TB Champion, Sire of TB Champions!

Dundee's AJ Stormcat

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 1434518DOB: 8/19/200717 yrs
COLOR CHAMPION!! Stormcat is VERY black (3 of his 4 grandparents are black!)--it's late summer, and his fleece is Blue-Black--it actually looks like black velvet! He has a long long staple, a very bright fleece with pleasing medium crimp and organized structure. Very big bone on a correct, compact frame, with a level topline and fleece all the way THRU his toes. He has a teddy bear head that is so appealing on huacayas, with a good bite, and a pleasing personality that is worth breeding for, aside from everything else! Stormcat’s pedigree is a "who's who" of names – Accoyo Camilio, Pperuvian Guellermo, CPeruvian Jaxon as an impressive sampling. His sire is a 4x Champ with retained fineness in his fleece – at 8 years old he was still holding a 22 micron fleece – this is a heritable trait! Sire Axtion Jaxon is known for throwing dark color and grey, and Stormcat has EVEN MORE black in his heritage. Stormcat's crias are on the ground--a BRIGHT fawn out of fawn, and a fabulous bay black (with a silver nose!) out of a light fawn dam. His third cria, a dark brown girl, is clearly improved from her dam--she has bright, finely crimped, consistent and organized fleece, and an adorable conformation--she won 2 championships plus numerous blue ribbons and sold at a year of age. There's also a lovely black girl who has taken 2 Championships, and a black male who took a blue ribbon his first time out-- and more to come. In addition to passing on his dark genetics, Stormcat seems to pass on his perfect, compact conformation and head, fineness (for black), good growth in the crucial first 6 months, and outrageously long and luxuriant eyelashes! BREAKING NEWS: EACH of Stormcat's five crias for Alpacas of Marin has taken home a blue ribbon in halter competition their first time in the ring, and 2 of the 5 (Chukulati and her full sister Iquique) have taken color championships their first time out! Hey--looks like the "barn party" last July resulted in a Suri girl having a Stormcat cria, and he's absolutely adorable. So Stormcat can even improve your Suris! (not an official recommendation...) WHOO-HOO!! Stormcat placed 3rd of 11 in very, very tough competition for the Dark/Mixed Get of Sire Class at the 2013 SWRAS! We are absolutely thrilled to have him place behind Amber Autumns' Eclipse Alyst and Marquam Hill's Snowmass Trilogy--Stormcat placed above outstanding herdsires that are practically "household names"! Stormcat has made the rounds of West Coast Alpacas ranches over the years, but he has finally come to his "real" home at Alpacas of Marin in the North San Francisco Bay area--west of Petaluma and Novato. We have Stormcat and his champion True Black son, Torrefacto. We figure we will sell one of them and be thrilled to keep the other. We have a lot of Stormcat offspring now, so it's time to sell off either him or his son.

Dam: Gallant Deed's Cocopuff

TB Gal--choose from 2 TB champ studs!

Gallant Deed's Cocopuff

HuacayaOpen (Female)True Black
AOA# 1237665DOB: 7/27/200519 yrs
Cocopuff is the product of the acclaimed Studmaster/Ideal Alpaca Community breeding program affiliated with North West Alpacas. It's fascinating to see how her grand-dam was "improved" in her breeding to Studmaster El Toro. Then, Cocopuff's dam was improved with her breeding to the outstanding MFI Peruvian Gallant Deed, one of the top Studmaster herdsires. Cocopuff is the result, and she is a solid, true black gal with a heavy blanket. She has bred readily and had trouble-free births of her six crias. She has excellent maternal instincts. Cocopuff comes with a breeding to your choice of our 2 champion black herdsires--Dundee's AJ Stormcat (sire of 2 previous TB offspring, both of whom took competitive blue ribbons their first time in the ring), and Marin's SC Torrefacto, sire of her stiking TB female cria in 2015. Cocopuff had her 2015 cria on June 13--an adorable TB girl with matching white "spats" on her hind feet. I really appreciate Cocopuff for her no-nonsense attitude--easy breeder, trouble free pregnancy, no commotion over the birth--I just looked up the hill, and there was a healthy cria kushed next to her dam, who was ready to pass the afterbirth. She's an affectionate Mom, and pretty good about letting us handle the baby. Definitely NOT a "drama queen"! We've named this cria "Moka", she is lovely--very soft handle, nice crimp, very bright fleece and perfect conformation. Moka is ready to wean and will not sell with her dam. Instead, we offer the breeding. Also, please see our "Black is Back" package that features Cocopuff plus a blue-ribbon winning black male junior herdsire, unrelated to Cocopuff(note: that would be Torrefacto). Give your black breeding program a jump start! Cocopuff has come to her new "digs" in coastal Marin County CA, in the North San Francisco Bay area.

Service Sire: RR DONATELLO

RR DONATELLO

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Rose Grey
AOA# 31620598DOB: 9/10/201212 yrs
We are thrilled beyond belief to have a top quality Renaissance Ridge grey herdsire in our lineup! It was a great opportunity for us, and we jumped at it! Donatello has the softest handle--the most uniform, fine fleece... Beautiful dark rose grey coloring---I suspect both classic and modern grey genetics. We plan to put him to work on our best colored females this fall! Yup!--gotta have modern grey in there because his first cria for us is MODERN dark rose grey, and her dam has no grey in her background! Addendum: his second cria for us is also a very dark modern rose grey from a true black female. This is from Julie and Ken Rosenfeld's listing of Donatello: "Donatello has been a treasure in our program. He is a Kit Carson son out of the revered and now deceased Snowmass Silver Star who gave us Snowmass Star Matrix, mom to RR Touchstone, the national brown fleece champ in 2015. She is also mom to Snowmass Enlightenment, who is well recognized in grey breeding circles. Donatello carries the strong conformation of both his parents and we fully suspect that he will deliver the goods on sustained fineness which was seen in both his parents. Sire, Kit Carson has a histogram of 22.5/ 4.0/ 17.6 and a comfort factor of 96.1% at age 6. Dam, Silver Star was still 23 micron at age 10! He has a very superior handle and uniformity to his fleece which would be commendable in any color, but is particularly notable for grey. ...[the genes carried by RR Donatello and sire, RR Kit Carson have been]...the backbone of our breeding program in a line that started with grandsire Aussie Gun's n Roses, RR Guns Kit Carson and now Donatello. ...If you're breeding for grey he's your man." Description

Coqueta has turned out to be a lovely young lady. She's quite close to her dam, a very black female out of the acclaimed Studmaster program of NorthWest Alpacas. We bred Cocopuff to our very black Champion, Dundee's AJ Stormcat and he put his signature perfect conformation and head on her sturdy frame. Add to that a very soft handling bright blue-black fleece with moderate crimp, fineness, and density, and uniformity of micron. Coqueta just took 1st of 7 in a competitive class of 7 at AlpacaFest West. The judge stated that she has the finest fleece in the class, moderate density, good uniformity of micron and crimp. excellent conformation, and is well-grown for her age. Coqueta had her first cria, a beautiful dark brown female, in early November. She is a great mother, and the little girl is growing rapidly. Coqueta does not sell with the cria, who will wean in the spring. Coqueta sells with a breeding that you can use on her or any of your females. Of our males, I'd suggest Accoyo America Hawkeye, or perhaps Manchu's Sun Tzu for Coqueta. Or, you can try for grey with our grey junior herdsire, Iron Sun--a grandson of Aussie .38 Special!
