Leilani is a beautiful granddaughter of 4Peruvian Legacy, with strong black genetics from her mom's side. She's an especially sweet girl, and easy to handle. This clearly runs in her family, as her dam and all of Leilani's crias have those same qualities. Leilani is a proven mom. All five births were easy and unassisted, with plenty of milk for the cria. She really is an easy keeper. Her most recent son, Cupid, is a beautiful light fawn, sired by Altiplano's Rico Gold. His fleece is extremely fine and blindingly bright with nice crimpy bundles. We like him so much we have repeated the breeding. Ooh! November 2014 update! Leilani's son Cupid just brought home a blue ribbon in both halter and fleece from the A-OK Alpaca blastoff show!

Torrefacto--it's a delicious Spanish coffee bean that is finely coated in sugar before roasting. Yumm! That describes our Torrefacto to a "T"! He's a true black son of our Champion black herdsire, Dundee's AJ Stormcat and our multiple-championship fawn gal, Derwydd Peruvian Inti-Siqay. His dam took Reserve Color Champion in Fleece at the AOBA/International Fleece show in 2009, and our Torrefacto combines the best qualities of both of his parents. His sire comes from very black bloodlines known for retention of fineness, great conformation, and Torrefacto shares his sire's mellow temperament. His dam has incredibly dense, crimped fleece with a lo-o-ong staple length. Torrefacto has a correct, strong conformation--he's matured into an impressive macho. His fleece is bright and nicely crimped with a lovely handle and it is almost blue-black in hue. He has the cutest silver/white spot right on the tip of his nose. We think he's going to be something special, and so do the judges--he took a blue ribbon his first time out in the ring, and another 1st of 6 at the California Classic. I've just skirted his 2012 blanket for the fleece shows--he has fine fleece with a lovely handle, brightness, and nice bundling. It's yummy!---WOW--his 2013 fleece is EVEN BETTER--and it took RESERVE CHAMPION at the show! He's developed well-defined bundles with very high frequency crimp, brightness, and consistency of crimp. Torrefacto took 1st and Color Champion in the 2014 AlpacaMania Fleece show--with his 4rth Fleece! His dam, Inti-Siqay is really kicking in with her AOBA/International Championship fleece! Torrefacto is 4 1/2 years old now, and his first crias are on the ground. Moka is a TB female with matching white "spats" on her hind feet. She gets that cute white spot gene from her sire. I'm pleased to see Torrefacto has really improved both crias--Moka has fineness and density, with a medium frequency crimp and BRIGHTNESS! Kahlua is very bright, has a wonderful handle (his was the first cria fleece I sold), and also a medium amplitude crimp and very long staple length. ***Seller reserves 2 breedings to Torrefacto--drive by or will pay agistment for female. We don't want to lose out on this genetic power-house! Torrefacto has digs at Alpacas of Marin in the north San Francisco Bay area. There's more: Torrefacto took ANOTHER blue ribbon in fleece at the 2016 Nationals--the judge stated that he has excellent fleece characteristics for his age!

Description

Calypso is a beautiful girl with a nice solid frame and great coverage, super fuzzy everywhere and a very pretty head. She's covered head to toe with fine, and amazingly soft fleece. She has the black coloring of her dam, Leilani, and she carries grey genetics from her champion sire Misty Ridge's Silver Quest. She's been healthy and robust from the start. Born at 16 lbs, she grew to be 99lbs at 6 months old, thanks to her dam's ample milk production and mothering skills. Of course her sire is a solid framed boy with tremendous substance of bone, so I'm sure that helps. As an added bonus, Calypso is one of the sweetest girls around. She will come to greet us with kisses, and has a calm, easy demeanor that's just a joy to be around. This holds true even when she's pregnant, which is a relief, but not a surprise as Calypso's dam is calm and easy going as well. Calypso's first cria, Aukai, had a fantastic histogram at 9 months old: AFD 17.4, SD 3.5, CV 20,1, %>30 0.7. Calypso had an adorable bay black male cria on July 9, 2014. Belafonte weighed 15.8 lbs at birth and gained 35 lbs in his first month. Calypso is a fantastic mom with lots of milk (and a good appetite!). We have bred her now to our multi-champion true black male, Marin's SC Torrefacto. He has a white spot on his nose, and we are thinking this might help Calypso express her grey genetics...or not. It doesn't matter--this will be a terrific cria! Calypso comes with a breeding to any of our herdsires, which can be transferred to any of your other girls. Calypso is at our Marin county farm, in the North San Francisco Bay area.
