Congratulations to Sue & Bob Evon and Brenda & Ron Berg of Alpacas of NH on the purchase of Bellatrix and her awesome daughter, American Chrome. Bellatrix is the fourth awesome daughter of our foundation dam, Grace. Grace has produced the best on our farm, with four true blacks and three silver greys. Her kids are consistently in the front row in the show ring, with many firsts, and color championships to their credit. Bellatrix has a big job ahead of her to keep up with her older siblings. Her sire, Xanadu After Hours, has been quietly producing some awesome kids the last couple of years, and because we've sold all the girls that we've bred to him, we've had to watch his kids grow up in other breeders fields. Grace made us proud yet again, and Bellatrix is her '08 contribution to our cria crop. Because of the consistent quality of Grace's kids, we've named them all after stars or constellations, and Bellatrix follows suit. She is a stylish young female with the signature compact frame, and stunning head that is typical of After Hours kids. Her fleece is exceedingly bright, and crimpy with a buttery handle consistent with Grace's kids. The fleeces from this dam line are some of the first to be snapped up by hand spinners. This girl was a standout in the show ring. Judge Amy Bliss Miller placed her first in conformation at the Alpaca Affaire Composite show, saying that she was happy to see this girl's fleece score come in at the top of the class as well, cementing her first place finish in the class of combined blacks and browns. She went on to grab the color Championship as well. She just got better with maturity placing 2nd and Reserve Color Champion at Alpaca Showcase under Australian black huacaya breeder, Peter Kennedy. She is now firmly settled in our foundation girl lineup, and produced an awesome silver grey male out of her breeding to Bisturi. Bella produced a stunning silver grey male out of her breeding to Lanark's Silver Charm for 2012. Her 2014 contribution is a beautiful silver grey female, American Chrome.

We've sold our breeding girls. Two gorgeous males left on the farm. Kio and his pasture mate Techron are being sold as a pair of fiber boys. Amazing pedigrees: Kio out of Rose grey champion female, and Techron out of True Black Champion Female. Stunning typey conformation, but their fiber is just not as fine or consistent to make our cut for top stud males. Just over a year old they have not been gelded yet. Selling as the pair only. Pkg price $400. Bellatrix has done it again. She just continues to wow us with her offspring, and she has proven to more than fill the shoes of her dam, Grace. Capstone, JEB Stuart, and now Techron………. This boy is stunning. Techron born at 21.5 lbs, with absolutely correct conformation and that upright presence that says I’m a show boy. Techron is sired by the awesome Bisturi son, Royal Signature. With a pedigree packed with black & silver grey, Techron has much potential for producing color in his offspring. Of course the breeding pen is a long way off, but he’s going to be fun to show. And don’t discount Bellatrix in this boy’s pedigree. She is our Color Champion Xanadu After Hours daughter. She is jet black and has a solid black pedigree, producing two lovely silver grey offspring when bred to silver grey. Her first son, Capstone, was Reserve Color Champ in the ring. Her kids are consistently at the top of the class. Keep an eye on Techron if you have wanted to add Bisturi to your herd pedigrees. Bisturi was sold and exported to Austria last year, so his bloodlines will be limited. Techron has an enviable Black/Grey Pedigree, and definitely will have the potential to impact breeding programs specializing in those colors.
