Peruvian Wyldfyre is destined to become one of the country's outstanding dark colored suri herdsires. Our goal has always been to breed suris of dark color with fleece characteristics rivaling those of white and Wyldfye is there with a micron of just 18 at 22 months, with amazing luster and lock. He is the 2009 AOBA Nationals Res Champion (800 suris), the GWAS Champion (largest alpaca show in 2009) and placed 1st at the 2009 Futurity. As a juvenile, Wyldfyre was the brown male National Alpaca Sweepstakes Champion under the 3 judge system, 2nd in a class of 11 at the level 5 GWAS 2008 show and 2nd at AOBA Nationals, 2008. Judge comments include: "Best overall package with exception fleece character", "Will make an outstanding herdsire", "Finest fleece in the class" etc. Once again the Protocol, Macgyver cross hits the mark. Wyldfyre's dam is our Protocol daughter, Silk N Acclaim, who was the 2006 GWAS champion and his sire is the 7 time Herdsire of the Year, DDF Peruvian Macgyver. Wyldfyre has it all with deep maroon/dark brown fleece,with great density, precise locks and great luster on a well balanced frame with strong bone and he has a wonderful disposition. Wyldfyre has all the attributes to become a outstanding herdsire and we plan to use him extensively at Pines Edge. Wyldfyre has proven he can ‘make it happen’. Wyldfrye’s crias are showing improved density over the dam, brilliant luster and well defined locks. He is stamping on his beautiful head and deep color. Sarafina is a gorgeous 3/4 Accoyo full Peruvian MAPACA Champion, medium fawn female with excellent suri phenotype. She brings outstanding genetics including Accoyos Crown Royale, Uribe, Bruxo and Viceroy. Sarafina has great coverage and density with a fine, very lusterous fleece with slick hand and well defined locks. She has maintained a very fine fleece with a micron of just 19.3 in 2011 at four years of age. Her conformation is excellent with strong bone and she is well grown starting life with a birth weight of 25.3 pounds. Sarafina's second cria, Penny, a dark mahogany female with wonderful luster and locks was the first sired by Wyldfyre and sold quickly before weaning. We could not be more pleased with the result of the mating of Sarafina and Wyldfyre. With such a great result we rebred Sarafina to Wyldfyre and Sarafina delivered a striking medium brown male Nov 11, 2011 and we have chosen to hold her over for breeding in the spring to avoid another cria late in the year.
