Highland Kinkaid

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Beige
AOA# 30422599DOB: 9/28/200717 yrs
Here is a guy that may turn out to be one of our best boys. Phenotypically he is your top-of-the-line light colored herdsire with beautiful crimp, wonderful density and coverage, and great conformation. Genotypically, he is your top-of-the-line dark colored herdsire with black, gray and brown in a background that reads like the Who's Who of alpacas. With the likes of Black Magic, Nic Nac, Accoyo Augusto, Accoyo Victor, and Hemingway in Kinkaid's ARI, we think he will be able to take the fiber of our brown, black and gray girls several notches up the fineness ladder. He has settled his first females and is ready for other opportunities to prove his worth. Take a chance on Kinkaid, but odds are in your favor on this one to produce outstanding cria! Just check out his yearling...and adult...histograms. Price has just been reduced to help Kinkaid get some additional cria on the ground. We have bred him to two blacks and a gray, but he lives with 5 other working herdisres competing for girls! This is a male that will not disappoint. UPDATE: Kinkaid finished his Fall show season with a 2nd place award at the MD Alpaca Celebration..behind the Color Champion. Standing in a line up with future herdsires out of white and fawn, we like to smile and think of the fabulous color in his background and the improvement he will offer our darker females! Save some money on breeding fees and...and then sell some to those friends of yours that are looking for a top quality male with the color and genetic background to improve their herd. This guy has been up against all the top breeding programs and males in Eastern US under VandenBosch, Safley, MacLeod, Buhrmann, and McConnell!

Casanova's Peruvain Crown Prince

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 30590557DOB: 8/21/200618 yrs
We named him "Crown Prince" for a reason. Out of our black AOBA Reserve Color Champion, Boadicea, he has the fiber and conformation to make heads turn. His dam Boadicea was the queen of the show circuit in 2000 with folks waiting at the ring to purchase her as she won yet another blue ribbon. We made the decision to keep her as part of our foundation stock. She has rewarded that decision time and time again with Champion cria. Dam to four cria with multiple Blue ribbons and Banners, she is just as important to Crown Prince's genetics as his famous sire, Snowmass Peruvian Casanova. Crown Prince has combined the best of his dam and sire to be an example of the fineness, density, crimp, and conformation. As a mature male he added a blue ribbon from the highly regarded Ohio Alpacafest and a Reserve Color Championship from 2009 PAOBA Breeders Showcase. We believe that he is certainly one of the finest Peruvian gray males on the East Coast. Crown Prince has many cria on the ground...80% black or gray...all looking like they are destined to challenge his outstanding show career. Several cria are already blue ribbon winners at large shows and three of them have banners to their name! Crown's 2010 histogram numbers indicate his "lingering fineness" with an AFD of 20.3. Not bad for a four year old. Crown's real value is revealed in his ability to produce show quality cria...consistently...in black and gray. 2007 HISTOGRAM: AFD 17.7; SD 3.8; CV 21.5; %>30 0.9 2008 HISTOGRAM (2 YEARS OLD):AFD 20.0; SD 5.5; CV 23.3; %>30 4.6 2009 HISTOGRAM (3 YEARS OLD): AFD 22.7; SD 4.9; CV 21.8; %>30 6.8 2010 HISTOGRAM (4 YEARS OLD): AFD 20.3; SD 5.0; CV 24.8; %>30=5.0

Description

Rose is a dark beauty with the fiber and genetics to gain a permanent position in someone’s foundation line up. Her dam is the dam to our remarkable Jetson’s Sir William, a rose gray 7X banner winner, and her sire is a male we brought back from the West Coast to improve the fineness in our dark colored females. Kinkaid did exactly that with Rose. Her first histogram carried an impressive AFD of 17.0 with just 1.0% of fibers over 30 microns. That was at 9 months of age. Rose has beautiful crimp, excellent coverage and density, and a consistent blanket of dark silver gray fiber. We think she will be a perfect candidate for a fawn male to gamble for an even finer fibered gray cria...or a gray male who is throwing beautiful classic grays. We had the opportunity to breed Rose to Legend's Peruvian Revelation of KPR when he was in the area in July...and so far it seems to have been a good breeding. Revelation is a fabulous male out of 5P Royal Incan Legend...a male who had numerous herdsires and banner winners to his credit before he passed away. Revelation is no slouch himself. Five blue ribbons and three banners...even as a mature male...put him at the top of our breeding wish list. When the opportunity came up to breed to him, we wanted to make it to a very special female. Ramblin' Rose is all that! Rose gave us a beautiful Gray girl Silver Liberty who is a banner winner!
