This big girl was born at 9:00 PM in a cold rain shower but luckily I went out after normal chores to check on the herd. Otherwise, she probably wouldn't have made it through the night. Her bloodlines are very strong with Chieftain from Alpacas of America and El Moustachio and Hemingway in her background. She looks awesome and is extremely healthy, with very fine fleece. She is the largest cria ever born on our farm at a gigantic 24lbs 7ozs. She weighed 40lbs at three weeks & 55 lbs at 50 days. At 7 months, she weighted 101 lbs!!! She is one big female like her dam and sire. Her mom weighed 180 lbs after the birth and she is not overweight. She is beautiful carmel (dark fawn) color. We decided to price her at a very reasonable value for that breeder that likes large frame females. We never entered her in a halter show because it just never worked out and then we bred her and she got pregnant on the first try. We recently entered her cria fleece in the TxOLAN Fleece Show (2008) and she won 2nd Place.
