Fine, Bright Fleece!

The Peruvian Knight

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Fawn
AOA# 845944DOB: 5/13/200321 yrs
The Peruvian Knight is a fine-fleeced half Accoyo. His dam, Accoyo Dona is from full Accoyo Amadeus, the first Accoyo imported to Germany. His sire is the well known 5Peruvian Camelot Allianza import from the Macusani region in Peru. The Peruvian Knight has excellent conformation and presence. His fleece exhibits extreme brightness and density even as a 7-year-old breeding male. Jim Watts on The Peruvian Knight: "The Peruvian Knight has very fine primary fibres and fine to very fine secondary fibres. The difference in diameter between the primary fibres and the secondary fibres are almost free of medullation." The Knight has given us award winning offspring and he is passing on his bright, fine fleece qualities. The Peruvian Knight's fiber stats are staying the same as he is getting older and he is an active breeding male--this is what we need to be breeding for!

My Peruvian Intrigue

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 1254099DOB: 7/22/200519 yrs
This very beautiful medium fawn Full Peruvian female is also 1/2 Accoyo. She delivered a very handsome white male (Blackforest's Archimedes) in October of 2007 with ultimate fineness (15.3 microns) and crimp to spare. He has taken two 1st Places in large white yearling male classes at A-OK and TxOLAN. Intrigue took a 6th place at the 2006 Futurity and has not been shown since to our knowledge. Her fleece is fine with a MC of 21.2 and a incredible CV of 19.8. Extremely nice handle on her fleece with alot of density. She sheared 3.5lbs of prime blanket fleece in 2007 at the young age of 22 months. Intrigue is one of those female alpacas that is just "pleasant" to look at. She has all the right characteristics for confirmation and fleece qualities to make her an outstanding foundation female. She was bred to Silver Rose P. Rainier and delivered a male light fawn cria on 24 Sep 08 named Rio Grande(already sold). Intrigue is bred to Stewart's Royal King David (sheared 13.1 lbs of fleece in 2009)and she delivered a female cria on 12 Oct 2009. This cria was King David's first offspring. Intrigue's males from 2007 and 2008 are both extremely fine. Her male from 2007, Archimedes, had the finest fleece we've ever tested at Black Forest Alpacas at 15.3 microns. WOW!! Intrigue breding to Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold from Bella Vita Alpaca Ranch was just over the top--Viper has it all fleece, conformation, phenotype, and looks!!! In 2012, Intrigue and Peruvian Knight (outside breeding) gave us a girl, Blackforest's Deidre. In 2013, she & Red Beard produced a dark brown female, Esmeralda. She is OUTSTANDING! So good in fact, we repeated the breeding for next year!

Service Sire: Tuscan's Prosecco di Bella Vita

Tuscan's Prosecco di Bella Vita

HuacayaJr. Herdsire (Male)Dark Brown
AOA# 31577984DOB: 10/19/200816 yrs
Named after the fine Italian dessert wine and grape, this male is a sweet addition to our breeding program here at Black Forest Alpacas. Bella Vita expected a superior cria from Cocoa Puffe and Tuscan, and they got it. He has beautiful evenly colored dark fawn fleece with fabulous brightness and gnarly, little crimpy bundles you can feel as well as see. He has a gorgeous head, compliments from both sides of his pedigree. His dam, Cocoa Puffe, is an outstanding female at Bella Vita Ranch and she has produced an other multi-champion huacaya herdsire, El Corazon', who simply has one of the best huacaya heads we've seen. Cocoa Puffe is also the dam of Res. Color champ Chia Pet, multiple blue ribbon Chocolat and grand dam of Res. Color Champion Angelina. Just looking at Prosecco, one can see he has great show potential. His half brother, El Corazon', sheared 11 pounds as a 3 year old in 2008. Long staple length is the added benefit from Cocoa Puffe as noted in all her crias. Tuscan's brightness and crimp definition are apparent in Prosecco's elite fleece. He is a farm and show favorite. People at the shows stop to look at him because of his "teddy bear" appearance. Definitely a show stopper!! He is so nice that Bella Vita Ranch wanted to retain 1/2 interest! He is showing strong breeding behavior and is reliable enough to use for spit testing but he is not yet proven. He has started breeding and we have confirmed pregnancies. We are really excited about his offspring!

Description

Diedre is the positive result of a very smart breeding decision (if we do have to say so ourselves)! We combined My Peruvian Intrigue and did an outside breeding with The Peruvian Knight. Jim Watts said on The Peruvian Knight: "The Peruvian Knight has very fine primary fibres and fine to very fine secondary fibres. The difference in diameter between the primary fibres and the secondary fibres are almost free of medullation. Her dam, Intrigue, is a very feminine and beautiful female who consistently produces among the best crias each year. Diedre is a gorgeous solid fawn female who will be a great addition to any herd.
