Silver Marquis is our full Peruvian, second generation grey herdsire (co-owned with Wilkins Livestock LLC).Sire of mulitple blue ribbon winners, we are quite proud of what Silver Marquis has produced for us since 2004. Great Lakes Ranch's Platinum Marquis was 2004 MAPACA Champion Grey Male, 2004 AOBA Reserve Champion Grey Male, and 2004 AAA Futurity Resertve Champion Grey Male. GLR Oriana was shown twice and awarded 1st place yearling dark brown juvenile female at 2004 AOBA & 2004 MAPACA. GLR Bela, in her only show, was blue ribbon winner in medium brown at 2004 AOBA.In 2005 his son GLR Marakesh was second at the AAA Futurity, Color Champion at Mapaca and Reserve Color Champion at AOBA. He is now owned by Irish Valley Farms.Other notable offspring from our ranch of Silver Marquis are GLR Jazzman,and GLR Orion and GLR Serrano.His offspring are all colored,ranging from greys and blacks to deep maroons, and all with excellent lock and luster.

Silver Belle is the 2002 AAA Futurity and 2002 AOBA Reserve Champion Grey Suri Female. She is also the high selling AOBA Auction suri female in 2002. She is the dam to Platinum Marquis, our three time 2004 Champion and Reserve Champion Grey Male(AOBA, AAA Futurity, MAPACA). Silver Belle's sire is Helios and her grandsire is Pperuvian Bruxo. Silver belle's 2006 cria is full sister to Platinum Marquis,named Silver Marquis' Platinum Plus.Platinum Plus, also a beautiful silver grey, was too young to show until the 2006 OABA show where she won Grey Female Color Champion.

Description
Platinum Marquis has proven himself nationally in the show ring. Shown, as a juvenile, at the three largest North American alpaca shows (AOBA,AAA Futurity and MAPACA) in 2004, Platinum Marquis won Champion and Reserve Grey Color Champion in these three shows.His luster and his lock are so remarkable that many breeders ask if he is an accoyo. He is a full Peruvian with accoyo blood from his dam's (Silverbelle) side (Bruxo, Uribe and Helios). Silverbelle was the Reserve Grey Color Champion at both AOBA and AAA Futurity in 2002 as well as the highest selling suri alpaca at the 2002 AOBA National Auction. Platinum Marquis' sire, Silver Marquis,is a deep gunmetal silver grey, a product of two silver grey parents, Silver King and Silver Gem. Platinum Marquis, a third generation silver grey suri,sired his first crop of crias born in 2006.All of them were colored suris with excellent lock and luster and out of 14 born, 10 were grey. Since then, Platinum Marquis has produced many more champion winning cria.Some of his well known champion cria are, GLR Marakesh , GLR Orion, GLR Kiva , GLR Picassa , GLR Chasca, GLR Silvario and Silvano of PVA.
