There are few alpaca herd sires in the same league as MacGyver’s Balboa. He is co-owned by Park View All American Alpacas in Oregon and Victoria Lane Alpacas in Ohio. During the course of his show career Balboa racked up 16 Halter Championships-- 13 Color Championships and 3 Reserve Championships. And his fleece won a few awards too. At the MAPACA 2008 Fleece competition, Balboa’s fleece was awarded a First Place and Best Suri Locks. Then at the 2008 AOBA National Fleece Show, Balboa was awarded First Place and Reserve Color Championship. His fleece also received a Special Award at Nationals for Best Suri Locks. Balboa’s offspring have accrued more than 25 championships among them to date! Though he is true black, Balboa specializes in both light and dark colored offspring, and both do equally well in the show ring. Thus it is at the 2011 Futurity, he was named both Dark Herd Sire of the Year and Reserve Light Herd Sire of the Year. But wait, Balboa makes dark Color Champions as well! These include, again from Park View Alpacas: Bejeweled of PVA, 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; Nataliah of PVA, half-sister of PVA Mahogany Prince and 2011 AOBA National Show Color Champion; Chanterelle of PVA, 2011 Futurity Color Champion and 2011 AOBA National Show Reserve Color Champion; Fawnessa of PVA, 2011 IAO Color Champion; and the immortal, memorable Testaverde of PVA: 2011 Color Champion at the IAO, the CABA Classic, the AOBA National Show, and 2010 Futurity Color Champion. Balboa has also sired some champions for Victoria Lane Alpacas. His first offspring to hit the ground, Balboa’s Adrienne, won 3 Reserve Championships during her show career. Then Adrienne’s full sister, Balboa’s Lexi, came along and also took 3 Reserve Championships—FABA 2011, Best of US 2011, and CABO 2011. In addition to these accomplishments, Balboa is just plain an all-around great guy. He’s friendly and intelligent, easy to handle, comes when he’s called, doesn’t cause problems with other males, and treats his ladies with dignity. Morena gave birth to her first cria last year, a true black male by Balboa. Like her dam, veteran producer Mahogany Rose, Morena’s cria enjoyed a high IgG number and glowing good health. Morena is the daughter of PVA foundation female DAFI Mahogany Rose, and Montoya of PVA. She has been rebred to Balboa for a September cria this year. Her maternal siblings of note include Ebony Rose Princess, Mahogany Rose Princess, and Midnight Rose.

At 4 years of age Eclypse went before Judge Jude Anderson she is a suri owner judge and she doesn't hand out blue ribbons to older alpacas if they don't deserve it, she is very strict about that. At MAPACA in 2013 Judge Jude Anderson gave Eclypse a great review saying he is retaining wonderful Suri features with a correct and strong conformation and for his age he is holding his fineness, luster, lock structure and uniformity of fleece. She also commented that he is well endowed. A1 from the judge, Blue Ribbon! Eclypse is an amazing True Black, with glowing luster and as the judges stated, uniform locks from head to toe and very nice fineness. He also has the typee head you like to see in the Suri Alpaca. He is out of a bay black dam Ameripaca's Rosaleen and a true black sire Shasta Springs Ashton, his lineage includes 2 very rare gray Bolivian imports. Take a look at his ARI certificate, you'll see El Nino, Grey Cloud, and Acero Marka's Sergio just to name a few of the impressive suris Eclypse comes from. With genetics like this, he is sure to be a great herdsire for any farm looking for genetics, color, conformation, and fine lustrous fleece. He is so easy to handle and doesn't kick. Eclypse is a sweetheart, and he is gorgeous. The judges liked his fineness, luster, lock structure, uniformity of locks, with a correct and strong conformation. Eclypse did a great job at the few shows we were able to take him to, take a look at his show record and take a look at his genetics. Eclypse will be starting his breeding on our farm this spring. We look forward to see what he can do, which we are sure his cria will stand out in the show ring as he did. For his first breeding we will breed him to Moravia, our full Peruvian True Black female whose sire is Balboa.
