Snowmass Matrix Liberation represents the elite qualities found within his pedigree. His sire is Snowmass Matrix, one of the best Snowmass Quechua sons ever produced. Matrix has consistently passed on the select qualities breeders are looking for: lingering fineness, density, bright well organized fleece on a pleasing frame. Liberation's dam, Snowmass Lady Liberty, is a beige Royal Reserve daughter adding the lines of Hemingway, Bueno, and Snowmaster. Her offspring have all placed high in the showring, demonstrating her ability to pass on her select traits and that of the stud. Combine all of this and you have a herdsire in Snowmass Matrix Liberation that carries the most desirable genetics in the industry. When we took possession of Liberation as a juvenile, he had a 6 inch staple with incredible consistency across the entire fleece. In the word's of Wade Gease at AWE 2010 "WOW, I was not expecting to see that when I opened up this fleece!". Liberation's second fleece has maintained that beautiful character and consistency across the body. Judge Mike Safley agreed with his comments at the 2011 AOBA National Show "This alpaca demonstrates great character throughout the fleece, a very long staple, and lingering fineness. The coverage on this alpaca is also very impressive". Liberation's strengths are found within his fleece- incredible shine, character, and long staple length. Add in a solid frame as well as his prepotent genetics and you have a herdsire that adds tremendous value to a breeding program. His show career was very consistent, much like his fleece. He was entered in 5 shows through 2010-2011, and placed 3rd in every show. He definitely held his own against some of the top farms in our industry! Liberation sired 5 cria in 2012; 4 female and 1 male ranging in color from bay black to white. He is consistently adding beautiful fleece character, superior staple length, consistency across the fleece and a brightness that literally makes the fleece shine. A beige daughter here on the farm may be the densest cria we have produced over the last 6 years.

Dam: Hummingherd's Laureate

Producing excellence time and again

Hummingherd's Laureate

Laureate was one of our first purchases when we started in this great industry in 2006. She's certainly one of our older dams now, but is still producing absolutely superior offspring. Check out her 2014 cria Lyra. We would love to see Laureate go to a home where she will be well cared for, and perhaps be bred a couple more times to repeat her genetics. The one constant we have seen with Laureates offspring is density and fineness. Just what astute breeders are looking for.

Description

LaBelle is a stout girl carrying a significant amount of fiber that's exhibiting wonderful character and good fineness. She is the granddaughter of Snowmass Matrix so this is no surprise. Her half sister is our own Amalaya that has won a number of championships and even a judges choice award- check out her page. LaBelle has the genetic backing of some incredible fore-parents and would make an excellent addition to any foundation herd. Labelle delivered a very bright white Armstrong son. Prior to leaving for his new home in Quebec, we hosted Armstrong and can say he was one of the densest males we have put our hands in. The benefit with LaBelle's son- Armstrong had very limited breedings prior to his sale to a farm in Quebec. ARMSTRONG: EPDs: In top 5% in seven of nine categories: MC, SDMC, AFD, SF, SDAFD, %>30 and %M. 19th %ile in FW. Skin Biopsy (Watt): Density 81.8/mm, Sec:Prim ratio 12.4:1, mean prim diam 19.9, SD 2.3, mean sec diam 16.7, SD 2.1 Armstrong is named after the vet that saved him in a dystocia birth. We could see right away he was something special, especially his density. He is our top son of Levi's 501 in his first year of production. His dam is a solid and very beautiful Cochiti daughter out of our greatest import dam, PPeruvian Esmeralda. Armstrong has very solid conformation and a dense, crimpy fleece that will knock your socks off. He placed second in his first show at eight months of age, beating two of three Amber Autumn entries in the class. As a yearling he won first place and his first Color Championship at SWRAS under Amanda. She said he took it hands down. And at the much bigger GWAS show he took first place over some great animals and big name farms. Peter Kennedy praised his fineness and consistency over the entire fleece. We now have his skin biopsy results from Ian Watt (Australian), which show a follicle density of 81.8/sq mm! Astute breeders who are measuring all their animals' density are not approaching this. Armstrong has even surpassed his sire Levi's 501, who is now on the herdsire row at Little Creek Farm/Accoyo America East, in both density and fineness. One of a kind. Awards Received 1st Place, White Color Champion, and Best Crimp, NWAS Fleece 2014 (Munro) 1st Place and White Male Color Champion, SWRAS 2014 (Vandenbosch) 1st Place, White Yearling Males, GWAS 2014 (Kennedy) 2nd Place, White Juvenile Males, SWRAS 2013 (Anderson)
