BlackHeart was entered in four shows as a juvenile in 2007 and placed 1st or 2nd each time, under four different judges, at mostly Level 5 and Level 4 shows, the highest, most competitive level! BlackHeart has inherited his sire's uniform fine TWISTED PENCIL LOCKS and superb suri charter, and his dam's LUSTER-LUSTER-LUSTER. His first fiber analysis came back at 20.4 AFD - and this is a gray alpaca! Most whites aren't this fine . . . At his third shearing in 2009 his micron is still an incredibly low 21.0 AFD, 5.8 SD. We are expecting BlackHeart to stay fine as his sire was 18.5 AFD at age 5 1/2! And at age 8 1/2 his sire made the NAAFP elite top fineness grade, under 20 microns. . . and this with BLACK GENETICS, not white! His dam is likewise very fine -- her 9th fleece was still 20-22 microns! We have selected for fineness for over 10 years and we anticipate using his fineness to take our breeding program to the next level. The crias are starting - take a look at the pictures - the first cria is a gorgeous solid mahogany color with long, fine, high luster silky locks, from a solid brown dam. Just look at those locks. We think this is one of our finest cria ever!!! Already sold. Cria number two is a lovely SOLID DARK SILVER GRAY! Yep - Island Dream's a modern silver gray with no white marks! And locks and luster to die for. We couldn't be more pleased! LOOK AT HER NECK . . .and she's GRAY! This cria is AMAZING. Several more are on the ground now - ALL SUPERIOR CRIAS - 14 cria and counting! He seems to be passing on his fineness, high luster, long staple length and gray . . . and is producing a majority of solid colored cria. ALL SURI CRIA. AND THE CRIA ARE GETTING INCREDIBLE TIGHT TWISTED LOCKS.

"Dreamy" is gorgeous! Look at her locks and look at what she passes to her cria. Incredible. Her dam is a MacGyver daughter and her sire is a cross of Mahogany Prince and Cool Fire lines and gray! And, Dreamy got the best from all sides. Two ribbon-winning parents and Dreamy is no different - she did well in a TOUGH COMPETITIVE CLASS OF 15 - Yep, A CLASS OF 15 of the Best in the West. And, she is a FULL FOURTH GENERATION SURI, likely to breed true. Why is "advanced generation" important? If a breeder is doing their job, each new generation is an improvement on the previous. TWELVE breeding decisions went into producing Dreamy . . . utilizing some of the best herdsires at each generation . . . AND IT SHOWS. She has wonderful, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth fiber: very fine (20.5 AFD), very consistent (SD 4.7), high-luster, independent locks and is a solid, rich dark brown. Her first cria is our Elite Island Dream, a solid dark silver gray ("modern gray") who has no white markings (see her separate listing in sold sect). Obviously, Dreamy is carrying a true black color gene. Bred to a black male, she has a 50% chance of producing a black cria. JUST LOOK AT THE NECK ON THIS CRIA - see pic!!!! There simply aren't grays like this. Her second cria, Tropicana, sired by a fancy mahogany male, is just as spectacular.
