A fourth generation true black, Eclipse has the most fibre on his head and legs we've ever seen.
Abundant fiber with great luster and 22.9 microns diameter. His conformation is compact and well balanced giving him a striking presence.
Eclipse now has produced five offspring this year. Three are female with two males. Two are true black; two are bay black (one with dark fawn highlights of chest, belly, and legs); and one dark rose gray. All show avery lustrous and dense fiber (no micron count done for a while yet).

Description
We are very pleased to announce that the 2007 OFDA 2000 Fiber Testing identified HVLA BLACK JACK at 46 months of age as the Finest Black Huacaya in the Country in his age group.
Jack has four generations of true black on his sire's side. His dam is HVLA Jill out of Snowmass Peruvian Cashmere; a DRAMBUIE son and HVLA Nicola a true black.
This big boned young man obviously has his superfine fleece passed down on his dam's side. How often do you see a 16.8 micron fleece in a black, even at 1 year of age? If that's not enough, he's very dense and shows well defined crimp and incredible luster. Jack had his follicle biopsy done by Dr Jim Watt in Australia: His mean fibre diameter age 24 months is 22.4 microns (20.6 for secondary follicles) and his follicle density is 38.2. He has 2 crimps per cm and ZERO medullation, EVEN in his primary follicles. He is retaining his fineness into his fourth year!. Jack keeps getting better with age. As he matures, his fleece is holding up and mellow temperament remains unchanged. No wonder that in awarding him Color Champion at just under age 3 at the California Classic, judge Dawn Brooker stated " I'd love to have 30 just like him in my pasture.
Jack now has several cria on the ground; 3 TB, 1 DB and 1 W. Renaisssance Ridge Claudia (DB)is the only one to have shown in 2008, taking a Reserve Color Championship @ Alpacamania. If black is what you are looking for, look no further!

[3rd]2005 Alpacamania: 3rd Place Full Fleece in a very competitive class of nine. Judge Tim Lavan remarked that he has " very fine,dense fiber." A very respectable first showing.
[2nd]2006 Alpacafest West: Second place in a surprisingly tough competition of 2+ year old. Judge Jane Tellier commended his strong conformation. depth of color, fineness and consistency of color and character of fiber character.
[1st]2006 California Classic: FIRST PLACE, in a very competetive class of 9. Kristin Buhrman stated that "although the perfect alpaca does not exist, this alpaca comes close. He is the best overall package with great substance of bone, very well balanced, really solid male. He has a very fine fleece with really great handle."
