HVLA Black Jack

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 1191011DOB: 6/26/200420 yrs
We are very pleased to announce that the 2007 OFDA 2000 Fiber Testing identified HVLA BLACK JACK at 46 months of age as the Finest Black Huacaya in the Country in his age group. Jack has four generations of true black on his sire's side. His dam is HVLA Jill out of Snowmass Peruvian Cashmere; a DRAMBUIE son and HVLA Nicola a true black. This big boned young man obviously has his superfine fleece passed down on his dam's side. How often do you see a 16.8 micron fleece in a black, even at 1 year of age? If that's not enough, he's very dense and shows well defined crimp and incredible luster. Jack had his follicle biopsy done by Dr Jim Watt in Australia: His mean fibre diameter age 24 months is 22.4 microns (20.6 for secondary follicles) and his follicle density is 38.2. He has 2 crimps per cm and ZERO medullation, EVEN in his primary follicles. He is retaining his fineness into his fourth year!. Jack keeps getting better with age. As he matures, his fleece is holding up and mellow temperament remains unchanged. No wonder that in awarding him Color Champion at just under age 3 at the California Classic, judge Dawn Brooker stated " I'd love to have 30 just like him in my pasture. Jack now has several cria on the ground; 3 TB, 1 DB and 1 W. Renaisssance Ridge Claudia (DB)is the only one to have shown in 2008, taking a Reserve Color Championship @ Alpacamania. If black is what you are looking for, look no further! Jack is proudly co-owned with Susan & Tom Petersen of Alpacas All Around in Loomis, California.

Pninah of the Shire

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 31158909DOB: 11/20/200717 yrs
Pninah's 2010 breeding produced a gorgeous male out of color champion and multi-award winning OVA Kiernan -- a beautiful medium brown male covered in dense, fine crimp. This new cria has crimp and bundling that is remarkable. You have to see him to appreciate. Her 2011 cria produced an ultra soft female out of HVLA Black Jack, one of our herdsires. Pninah continues to wow us with her offspring. Pninah is one of the friendliest alpacas at Brookfarm ~ a beautiful medium brown girl (burgundy), with black points around the ears, face and legs. She is a sweet, curious young female, out of grey on her dams side, and white from the sire. Pninah has good coverage and nice dense fiber. She comes from a very reliable dam, good breeder, with great mothering instincts and plenty of milk; and Pninah has proven herself to follow in that lead.

Description

Penelope brings it all to the table. We can't wait to get her first micron results this Spring, because this girl has been ultra soft from the moment she hit the ground. She appears to be carrying the fiber traits from her sire, HVLA Black Jack, who is known for his fineness to match any color, even though he is true black. Penny is a beautiful mahogany brown, with black tips to her feet and face and ears. She carries the very strong legs and body character from both her sire and her dam, Pninah. This is one little girl that would be a wonderful addition to your herd - genetics, fiber, the entire package.
