Reserve Color Champion, 4 Time Blue Ribbon Winner, Solid True Black, Full Peruvian, Son of AOBA National Conference Reserve Color Champion, More than 10 ribbons to his name. Sure, we're proud to have Scotty here on our farm. We can now proudly add producer of color champion to his list of attributes. Scotty has produced several blue ribbon cria proving that he can pass on his exceptional fleece qualities & excellent typey conformation to his offspring. At the latest show, the Western NY Show, his cria took two blues (in grey and black) and a color championship in black! We love the rich, wonderful array of colors that alpacas come in. We want a rainbow of natural colors grazing in our fields. We don't, however, want to sacrifice the soft, fine fleece that is so often associated with the lightest colored alpacas. Here too, Scotty has what it takes. Judges have made comments (right before handing him a blue ribbon!) on his density, consistent crimp throughout his blanket and on his outstanding fineness and handle. What is equaly important (or perhaps even more important) is that Scotty is keeping his fineness and density as he matures. He recently took a 1st place ribbon at the 2005 Buckeye Classic in a mature true black class. The judge placed him 1st & commented on the wonderful hand of his fleece for an older male. In his last show, the 2005 PAOBA Breeders Showcase, Scotty was awarded a blue ribbon by Jude Anderson who placed him 1st based on his density, fineness, hand & excellent conformation. We are proud to have Scotty's genetics to our herd. Come & visit. We are confident you will be just as impressed as we are with his show record, the feel of his fleece, his conformation & his presence. He resides here at Ideuma Creek all year.

The focus of our close to 20 year breeding program has been fleece - fine fleece, dense fleece, fleece with a long staple length & fleece that is consistent in fineness, crimp & color. Our primary focus has been fleece. When cria are born, we evaluate them on their fleece quality & conformation - color is often a bonus & has not been a focus for us. So when we got that "gotta have a grey" compulsion and began looking for a grey herd sire to breed to some of our best fleeced girls who have generations of ancestors here on the farm, we had some very high expectations in mind. We don't want to just produce greys. We don't want to just produce a nice grey. We want to be able to produce nice greys as consistently as we've produced elite fleeced whites & fawns. When I saw Mattie for the first time, I was impressed. When I felt Mattie for the first time, I was in love. Then the research began & the fleece samples were requested & the micron reports were gone over with a fine toothed comb. It quickly became evident to me that Mattie could produce beautifully fleeced cria consistently for our farm. His fleece is exquisite. With a low micron and a low CV, his fleece has a buttery feel & an uncommonly soft handle, especially for a grey. His staple length rivals some of the best at my farm. He has consistent, tight crimp & has few spots on his blanket. Mattie's genetics are among the best in the business. His sire is Lancaster, owned by Flying Pony, whose genetics are so sought after, he has over 300 cria. Mattie is among only 6 grey males that Lancaster has ever produced. Lancaster's sire is Conan whom we've admired for years. We have several Conan offspring here on the farm and rarely part with these genetics. Mattie's dam is a ribbon winner herself who has produced gorgeous cria including a Judge's Choice winner. We are proud to co-own Mattie with Gentle Breeze Alpacas & Out of Sight Alpacas.

Daughter of Champion!

Description

Marnia is now a two time champion! Her fiber stats provide the science behind the success - AFD of only 19.4 is pretty darn soft, especially for a black! Marnia is exactly what we were hoping for when we paired our true black reserve color champion, Peruvian The Scotsman, with our fawn full Peruvian girl, Xtra Special Missy. Missy's sire is the infamous Black Magic so we knew she covered black. We've just been waiting for her to produce a black cria. Then along came Marnia, and boy, are we impressed! Marnia has amazing fiber - a high frequency, consistent crimp throughout her blanket, neck, legs and tail. Her fiber is soft and dense. All of this in true black. It's a dream come true! Marnia's conformation is also right on. She's straight, solid and strong with an excellent bite. The quality of her fiber and her form is no happen-chance. Marnia's sire is reserve color champion, Peruvian The Scotsman who also boasts four blue ribbons. Her dam is Xtra Special Missy, daughter of Black Magic, maternal granddaughter of Peruvian Jaxon and daughter of Peruvian Melissa, the dam to multiple color champion, Kodiak. To top it all off, Marnia is a sweet girl with a very friendly disposition. Since Accoyo Invasion had his first two black cria this spring, we decided to breed Marnia to him. This cria will be full Peruvian, half Accoyo, perhaps black and the cria's dam and sire are both multiple champions. UPDATE - check out Marnia's 2011 cria out of Invasion! He's beautiful, and he's a MODERN DARK SILVER GREY! Marnia delivered a gorgeous silver grey boy out of Grey Matter in 2015. We've rebred her to Grey Matter for a hopeful repeat performance in 2016 Here's what the judges have to say about Marnia's fleece: "Good crimp style & density" - Diana Timmerman "Lovely hand - excellent brightness!" Cheryl Gehly
