We are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Pleasant Hill Alpacas & Canterbury Farms Alpacas on this incredible herd sire. Strat is one of the premiere fawn Accoyo herd sires in the country. In just 3 years of cria in the show ring, his offspring have over 35 championships & over 68 blue ribbons. When Genine, our partner from Canterbury Farms Alpacas, went to the 2010 Kentucky Classic, she couldn’t have been more proud; a Strat cria won the white color championship. A Strat cria won the black reserve color championship, & a Strat cria won the brown reserve color championship as well! It is no wonder Strat took 1st place, get-of-sire at that show & at the OABA Alpacafest as well! In addition to these 2 Get-of-Sires, Strat has 5 blue ribbons for his awesome conformation & beautiful fiber. He has never been beat by another full Accoyo in the show ring! Stratosphere is the product of 4Peruvian Accoyo Legacy, the highest selling alpaca of all time, & Accoyo Astillero, the dam of multiple blue ribbon & champion cria. He is 1 of only a handful of full Accoyos that Legacy has EVER produced, & is 1 of only 2 herd sire Medium Fawn Full Accoyo Legacy sons in the world! Stratosphere CONSISTANTLY improves the dam, at every level adding density, crimp, fineness & beautiful coverage & heads to his cria. In addition to quality, Strat adds COLOR as well. He is a rich medium fawn & has produced cria of all colors including black & grey. In fact, almost every black cria that he has produced has become a champion! Call about our Book-a-Breeding Incentives and our special breeding packages. Right now we’re featuring our “Make A Champion Cria” package featuring a breeding to Stat and an Accoyo Invasion breeding for $3500. The best way to make a champion cria is to breed to a male that consistently is producing champion cria. Visit Strat here in New York this summer! UPDATE - at MAPACA 2011 - Strat cria took blues in white, black, beige and brown - the reserve color championship in white and the color championship in black! To celebrate Strat's inaugural visit to NY, we are offering $1k off his breeding fee to the first ten who book breedings with him. That's $1500 for a breeding to Strat!

Penny simply has awesome fiber. It is incredibly bright, crimpy, soft and dense - some of the best fiber we've had born here on our farm. We were especially excited with her color, a beautiful fawn, since both her dam and sire are white. Penny is one quarter Accoyo and three quarters Alianza. Her maternal grandsire is 4Peruvian Accoyo's Juliaca, an import to Westwool's Alpacas, perhaps the most respected alpaca farm in all of Canada. Because of his Canadian location, Juliaca's genetics are rare here in the U.S. Penny's sire, WRA Peruvian Nekuta, is a Hemingway grandson. Yet another reason for Penny's elite fleece. Penny's fleece continues to show her fine breeding - most recently with a color champion banner at the Este's Park Fleece Show 2008, a reserve color champion banner at Alpaca Fest West and Judge's Choice at MOPACA 2008! She now has eight blue ribbons! Penny had her first cria in the summer 2008, a gorgeous girl out of our beige full Accoyo 8X champion, Invasion. You can only imagine the fiber on this little girl, Sarah. It's spectacular! Sarah was sold before she was even weaned. Penny has proven herself to be an excellent mom - very attentive with plenty of milk. She also is one of those easy-to-get-bred girls. Her second cria, Bo Jangles, a fawn, is equally as nice. Bo was also sold before he was weaned and now is a color champion himself. Her 2010 cria, Shilling, has simply knock-out crimpy, bright fleece. Also sold as a weanling, Shilling has been shown by his new owners and done well in the showring! We've been so impressed with our Grey Matter cria that we bred Penny to him this year. We are crossing our fingers for grey, but any color cria should have fantastic fleece because the genetics for elite fleece are so strong on both sides of the pedigree.

Description

Altitude is the perfect storm of only Accoyo and Alianza genetics. His sire is our star herdsire, Accoyo Stratosphere whose reputation for putting crimp, density and fineness is well known. His dam is our foundation girl, Penelope or Penny as we like to call her. Penny is a 2X Champion with 8 Blue Ribbons and The Judge's Fleece Award, the highest honor you can earn at a fleece show. Altitude has taken the best from both, and he is fantastic. Altitude's crimp is very fine, high frequency and it is consistent throughout his blanket, legs and neck. He's a big boy with excellent, strong conformation. We think he will do very well in both halter and fleece shows. Altitude's paternal siblings have won more than 40 championships and more than 70 blue ribbons. His maternal siblings are quite impressive too earning multiple ribbons including color championships and the Judge's Choice Fleece Award. We have no reason to believe that Altitude will not follow in his sire's, dam's and paternal and maternal siblings' footsteps. In fact, with the look of his fleece right now, we'd bet on it. We would consider half ownership of him with the right farm. If he is sold with full ownership, we would definitely want to retain some breedings. Purchasing a young male is always risky - even when he comes from champion bloodlines and looks amazing. We are willing to include a breeding to the herdsire of your choice to make taking the risk a little easier.
