COLOR COLOR AND MORE COLOR! Snowmass Violet is loaded with color genetics. Newly added to our Breeding Program, we are excited for what Violet, with her exceptional lineage & fleece characteristics brings to our herd, with her current and future breedings. Her sire-Incan Magic is the premier Gray Herdsire of the North American Alpaca Stud, and is owned by Cas-Cad-Nac Alpacas, who holds him exclusively with limited outside breedings. With the fiber density and ultra fine fleece he inherited from his dam, 4Peruvian Amanda (who in 2006, at the age of 15, had an AFD <17!!), Magic has traits that are often sorely missing in this color category. Her dam-Snowmass Zima consistently throws award-winning cria, & though she may be white, she is a hidden treasure of color genetics, with her parents being Medium Rose Grey/White and True Black. True to her genes, Zima has thrown mostly Blacks, Silver Greys, & Rose Greys. Violet's fiber combines lovely long staple length with density and ultra fineness even at 10 years of age!! She has a history of producing fine-fleeced crias (6 out of 9 were females!), is a great mother and an easy birther. She is gentle on the lead, will step right up on the scale, and will hold still for toenail clipping. In 2010, when bred to bay black Brio Encantado, she produced an LSG girl-Incan Essence. In 2012, when bred to 1/2 Accoyo Rivanna Stormy Monday, she threw another beautiful girl-Incan Lunes, who though is mostly a variated light fawn, has a touch of rose gray too!! Snowmass Snow Legend is one of the finest studs in the nation, with a cashmere-like fleece of 14.4 micron count in 2004 and still, over 40 offspring, at the age of 8, his micron count is 21.6!! Son of one of the most unique Full Accoyo sires in the US; his father Snowmass Incaaccoyo Star (I-Star) is sired by the one and only, Peruvian Snowmaster (more on side). I-Star passed on his great conformation to Legend; including bite, straight legs, & straight top line: as well as his FANTASTIC fiber with a tight and uniform crimp, lock structure, density, coverage, soft handle & bundling and luster. Even more exciting than that, is that Legend is a male full of attitude, presence and great conformation. Just looking at him makes you go WOW. He represents the greatness of his sire & grandsire, with an additional brightness, luster and highly expressive crimp making an unbelievable fleece on this true Champion. Snowmaster & I-Star passed all this onto Legend, plus a great disposition!
