Full ownership in Orlando is now available. See Orlando in motion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSagJk4leNs How many gray herdsires are out there who have produced offspring winning over 80 BANNERS, over 160 BLUE RIBBONS, and still producing CHAMPIONS? Orlando Cloud is a stunning male who has without a doubt helped boost the quality of gray huacayas to new heights. So often a male shines for a few years, and then is overtaken by higher quality. Not so with Orlando. In 2008 his offspring began winning top honors, and since then at almost every large show his offspring, and now grand kids and great grand kids, continue to bring home banners and blues. Gray Alpaca Co. recently had four Orlando offspring in a row, and this group is simply outstanding. We can't wait to see them in the show ring. At the October Empire Extravaganza in Syracuse, NY, his offspring won two CHAMPIONSHIPS, including Gray Championship in fleece, and a RESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP, along with 4 Blue Ribbons. He continues to stamp out high quality crias. Orlando's accomplishments are many, and he was named HERDSIRE OF THE YEAR 2013, and 2014. This award is based on the number of points accrued by winning offspring at MAPACA, to date the largest show in 2013. Here is the new standard for gray! Orlando stands above the rest with his consistent, dense architecture from his tail to his topknot. The judges have raved about this male from the time he hit the show circuit, and his offspring are now following in his footsteps with multiple Championships and Reserve Championships. When bred to gray or black his cria's colors have been primarily gray, and he has also shown the ability to throw gray out of fawn. Orlando's stud fee is $5,000, with generous discounts for drive by breedings. For details please contact Nancy at [email protected] or Jeff at [email protected]. Offspring Show Wins Update: Orlando offspring were first shown in 2008, and to date they have won over 80 Color Championships/ Reserve Championships, and over 160 Blue Ribbons! KY Criations Silver Genesis

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 30943841DOB: 8/2/200717 yrs
We first saw Genesis at PAOBA 2008 and were immediately impressed by her very bright and well defined, high frequency crimp, of the caliber seen in fawn and beige animals. So it was a no brainer to purchase her when she came up for sale at the Extreme Progeny auction. She's a Reserve Champion. Genesis' first cria was a male, Silver Saludo. Saludo had a shortened show career as we suspect he had heat stress and produced very few viable sperm. During that shortened career, he amassed 11 Championships. His fleece is still gorgeous but we've shorn him twice yearly in hopes that someday he will settle a female. To date, he has one confirmed pregnancy. Her 2011 cria is also a male out of our LA Eros, Triumph. Triumph took 12 Championships before he retired. He is now in production and we are just starting to see and interpret his offspring. So far he has thrown all silver grey or true black when bred to the same and he has thrown one rose grey when bred to fawn. Genesis' third, fourth, and fifth cria are all males and all out of LA Eros. Not that they are bad, but really, how many silver grey males out of this pairing do we need! Correction, the 5th male is true black and out of our 6X Champion Campeon...but still..... So next we will breed Genesis to our 13X Champion and 3X Judges' Choice Champion Magnum. Make an offer!

Description

Silver Saludo began winning Championships in the Fall, 2011 and went on an incredible run culminating in a total of 12 Banners--10 Champion and 2 Reserve Champions. We retired him early from the show ring due to health reasons (heat stress). The usual adjectives are used to describe him: flawless phenotype, perfect conformation, consistent, well-defined crimp character, amazing density……however one cannot truly appreciate the breadth of his fleece without inspecting it personally. He comes from outstanding genetic lines, and given that his grey dam has been a top producer and was able to be awarded Produce of Dam AND from different sires. As a two-year-old, Saludo suffered heat stroke and permanently damaged his reproductive capacity. He sired only one female. No hereditary cause. He maintained a normal testosterone level and had morphologically normal sperm at a minimal count.
