He improves fleece characteristics and puts his conformational stamp on his offspring adding proportional body type as well as substance of bone to both his male and female offspring. He also is producing the longest lasting fineness on his crias, they are the finest ranked alpacas on our farm as they age and in all colors, this is his purpose in our breeding program. Superstar’s EPD’s fall in the top 10% of ALL alpacas in the US. 6 of those traits fall in the top 5%. This is no small accomplishment considering this is across the whole national herd and against some very good white alpacas. She has produce a breeding male who Oak Haven alpacas in MI now own and has multiple blue ribbons as well as a few color championships. We decided to put her on our “Special” list because we are receiving her daughter back in trade from Frosty Ridge Alpacas in Duluth MN. Callina produced a multiple color champion and Frosty Ridge needed a few females of their own to breed him to so we exchanged a few alpacas. Black Ice has also produced another breeding male now located in MI, Gabriel Star. Gabe has done very well in the show ring, beating many top males in large competitive black classes.
