Halle’s Raven Surprise was named because that’s exactly what she was - a surprise. She was born sometime before dawn at 10 ½ months. Bob spotted her walking around the pen as he was starting to drive our daughter, Jessica, to school. Needless to say Jessica was very late for school that day. Raven is an adorable, True Black female, who stands very erect and shows very good characteristics in her locks and luster. She is extremely friendly and allows those she trusts to rub her neck. She has perfect straight legs. Raven is our "PR Paca"! She gets her True Black color from both sides. Her dam’s parents are both True Black, while her dam is Medium Fawn with black ears, feet, and a black nose. Her sire is the excellent True Black herdsire “Sudden Impact” from the Wilkins Livestock breeding program. Raven is a strong little survivor. She was born early to a first time mom. The dam's milk had not come in even though Raven appeared to be nursing. So after receiving colostrum and bottle feeding for nine days, she started taking all her nourishment from her mom. Our primary plan for Raven is to keep her to our breeding program. She can be bred to either of our True Black herdsires. Raven has proven that she will deliver true black cria. Raven's fleece is that unique black that shines in the sun with a silvery hue.

Description

Charlie is a very pretty boy with soft very lightly curling dense fleece. He is the alpaca that usually doesn't get a second glance from people until he walks up to them and they feel his fleece, then all they can say is "Wow he is really soft." He has great true black genetics and potentially throw some nice colors if someone took a chance on him. We just have to many true blacks to consider using him in our program. He has a very consistent color from nose to tail and he has black points, nose, ears and tails indicating that he is carrying the ability to produce some dark colors. He is friendly and would make a wonderful alpaca to train for showmanship or obstacles or to show.
