We were thrilled when the results of the 2010 ABOA National Spin-Off were announced and Keeper was awarded first place in the whites for her age group AND earned the highest score of all 64 white huacayas entered.
We purchased "Keeper's" full Accoyo dam, Choral Bells, at the Snowmass auction. She had a beautiful male cria at side at the time and had been bred back to Snowmass Quechua (now deceased), one of Snowmass's main herdsires, again. Seeing how beautiful that male cria was convinced us to purchase Choral Bells in spite of the fact that the cria she was carrying would not be full Accoyo.
We were ecstatic when Keeper was born. Not only is she simply the most adorable cria born on our farm but she has some of the most exquisite fiber to go along with her perfect conformation, sturdy legs and correct bite.
She has some of the tightest bundles that travel from her topknot to her tail and her spine all the way down to her belly. And, her fineness is remarkable--not hard to believe considering her mom had a 17.9 micron as a four-year-old, and the fineness of her sire.
