He is a complete package of perfect conformation, elite fleece characteristics with excellent bundling, brightness, crimp, and uniformity. The brightness of his fleece rivals suri luster. When we check his sheared fleece in at the shows, it invariably gathers admirers and then further inquiry on which animal this fleece belongs to. Tuscan stayed below 20 micron until he was 8 years of age when he was 20.0. And he passes this fineness on. For example, check out the histograms on sons Tuscan's Maestro, Tuscan's Semper Fi, Tuscan's Perfect Storm, all below 20 micron so far at 2 to 3 years of age. And uniformity is also in histogram mix. But a great herdsire is really measured by his offspring, and has Tuscan delivered! He stamps his babies with remarkable consistency for fine, well organized and crimpy fleece with his signature brightness on a beautifully balanced frame with good bone, extremely typey heads, complete leg coverage and his unmistakable presence. These babies have earned several Get of Sire awards for Tuscan Gold and several Breeders Best Three awards for Bella Vita Ranch. Our client list for Tuscan Gold offspring includes prestigious and discriminating farms such as Snowmass Alpacas, AL Pacas, Safe Haven Farm, Red Granite Ranch, Snow Diamond Alpacas and others. Judges have also bred to Tuscan Gold, so he has that stamp of approval from those who should know! Tuscan descends from the award winning MFI Brock line which has produced multiple champion Tuscan siblings. Novena is the daughter of bay black Snowmass Nova, famous son of Snowmass Peruvian Cassanova (Bueno) and by our own medium fawn Amazing Grace, an Accoyo Express daughter. Grace has produced 4 fawn female cria for us, Novena the first. One of these cria, Grazie, was purchased by Snowmass Alpacas at the 2011 Futurity auction, another female (Amber Wave) sold at the 2010 AOBA show and went on to be a blue ribbon girl, and yet another Princess Grace, is also a blue ribbon female sold at the 2014 Amber Autumn auction to KJ Alpacas of Canada. Novena is Grace's first cria, and we have kept her in our foundation herd for her excellent pedigree and color genetics. She has bright, soft fleece with good character, good bone and size to her frame, and a calm, quiet personality. She has been bred twice to our Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold and has produced 2 fawn female cria. The first born in 2011, Noel, we sold off the ranch this spring (2012). Novena delivered her second cria, another fawn female, on 8/10/12. This cria, Venus, is a nice size cria with feminine look and sold to Stachowski Alpacas at the 2013 AOBA auction. Novena was bred to our brown Tuscan's Perfect Storm and had a nice beige male cria in 2014 with exceptionally bright fleece that appears to be fine as well. It is a silky style fleece that we expect to "pop" after his first shearing. I have to find my breeding records for 2015, but I believe we bred her back to Perfect Storm. In any event, that is who I would breed her to again - or directly to Tuscan himself - or to Tuscan's Semper FI - or to our El Corazoln`. The chioces are many, and all of them should continue to produce lingering fine fleeces in the offspring with brightness and excellent handle of the fleece.
