Description

Current 2016 EPDs: AT AGE 7 - Marz's Traits are 3rd to 8th percentile in 4 categories: AFD, SDAFD, SF, %>30, and an awesome 5th percentile in MSL - Staple Length. Marz' fuzzy face wins the cute award of the year, but there's a lot of substance beneath that cute face. He is the third offspring of the cross between Running Late and Marzipan, and both parents were Futurity champions. Marz' sire PC Running Late 557 is a many time Champion with over 200 offspring on the ground. He consistently added in extreme fineness - and we mean LASTING fineness - onto offspring. Taking a look at our Running Late offspring here at PPR will testify to that. Check out Marz' brothers by other mothers to see the proof-in-the-genetics - Camero, Calypso and Kingston etc... This is where the EPDs do tell a story. Marz' half Brother here, Kingston, has been celebrated at AOA Nationals Trait Leaders Conference for the last several years including this past year 2016 for being the NUMBER ONE EPD Trait Leader in Average Fiber Diameter and Spin Fineness. Kingston is just hitting a 17 micron at age 10. When Kingston came to Peaceful Prairie Ranch with the infamous Hummingherd Alpacas herd in 2011 he was an adult male with an AFD of 13! Marz's full brother Rum Runner had a MC of 15.1 and a CV of 15.5 at two years of age, and sold to breeders in Alberta for 35K. Marz's full sister Too Late Baby has a MC of 14.9 and a CV of 16, and sold to Lynn Edens of Little Creek Farm, who now owns Accoyo America. Too Late was a color champion in her first regional show. Now Marz continues the tradition, with a gorgeous head and superfine, dense and crimpy light fawn fleece. As a small juvenile he placed high in two regional shows, then as a yearling he won first place and Reserve Champion at IAO. The judge commented on his amazing handle, brightness and consistent micron. In his third year, he won a blue ribbon at IAO in the tougher Commercial division. Marz has remained a very compact male, therefore suiting programs that prefer the compact size. We are top-heavy with amazing males and would love to work with an astute farm looking to add these genetics into their herd. Please contact Wendy to discuss options such as 6-12 month leasing, or purchase options. We will consider adding Marz into a package as well if you buy another alpaca from Peaceful Prairie Ranch.
