First, you have to thank Red Granite for delivering such an outstanding male. Second, you have to thank Kitt Hollister for selling you her herd, including this outstanding male, and if I could reduce the lack of hesitation in making that purchase, I could in fact reduce it to this one male. From Kitt: "The best way to introduce this male is using the facts. First: YES, he is a true Harlequin. His great grandsire, Black Epic, is one of the most prolific Harlequin Appaloosa producers out there. His spots are subtle as his coloring is very light, a most stunning lavender rose grey. They are there, however, and there is no question that his extraordinary coloration is the result of the Harlequin Appaloosa gene." At 127.2 follicles/square mm density, Man of Mystery is the densest alpaca yet biopsied by Ian Watt in the USA, and I have not yet heard of a denser alpaca out there. With a primary SD of 2.5, secondary SD of 2.2, and fiber population differential of 3.5, he is also one of the most uniform. To quote Ian Watt directly, "overall this is the best alpaca I have tested in the US." His yearling histogram, at 16.0 AFD and 3.1 SD, is fine. His two year old histogram, at 17.3 AFD and still a 3.1 SD, is fine. His 2019 AFD, calculated off of his biopsy, is 16.9. So, he's fine, and he's staying fine, which is to be expected. Why? Well, his sire, CCNF Legionnaire, has a 6 y/o AFD of 17.3 with an SD of 3.5, and his dam's 5 y/o histogram was 20.5 with an SD of 3.5 -- impressive for any color, but stunning for a TRUE BLACK. So, here we go: unbelievably dense, uniform, and fine. As the pictures show, this fleece is, as expected, also quite beautiful -- bright bright bright, with a high-frequency crimp that stamps it as truly elite. He also has a decent staple. So far, he has thrown pattern 80+% of the time. His crias demonstrate his unique coloring and fantastic fiber statistics! He's produced blacks with 16 micron fleeces adn 2.9 SDs, and appaloosa/harlequins with 17.9 microns and 3.6 SDs. Be on the lookout. This guy is restricted but his kids are not... Much much more to come.

Modern Grey Champion Beauty

Bomber's Diamond Lil

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Silver Grey

Lil was one of three animals I took to my first show EVER. She was one of two females and I also brought a rose grey male. Lil and her female friend were both yearlings and they BOTH won championships. My grey male got a first in his first show. Needless to say - what a way to start out. Lil has an outstanding pedigree. Her Dad is Bea-2 Bomber (who I own) and her Mom is a Cupid's Delilah out of Inga Cloud (who I also own) and Cupid (who I also own). Are you getting the picture? This lineage Inga Cloud/Cupid/Bea-2 Bomber has produced some of the most outstanding offspring and Lil is no exception. And they are all HERE at Willow Wind Farm. Lil is a compact sturdy female - just the way we like them. Her fleece is super dense like her granddad Cupid and has the fineness and brightness of character like her Dad Bomber. Lil was bred to Silver Lining and delivered the most amazingly beautiful modern grey female in Sept 2019 we named Halo. And so.... The epic saga continues. Lil gave birth to another Silver Lining cria summer of 2021. His name is Echo Delta and we cant wait to get him in the show ring. Another modern grey. This boy is a replica of Mom. Sturdy. Full Coverage. Dense. And ample fineness and character in that fleece. Lil was bred back to Man of Mystery... well, because we just wanted to try out that combination. I CANNOT WAIT for these offspring to hit the ground this year. Her density. His density. Her fineness matched with his ultra fineness. Its gonna be crazy wonderful we think. And so it is! A dark fawn male with such AMAZING fiber traits. He runs. He jumps. This guy is a solid colored Man of Mystery offspring. And he looks really promising. Lil will be bred in Spring 2023 for a 2024 cria - we arent totally sure which outstanding male to pair her with..... We think he is a tux (wink wink) and we think the results will be memorable. Year 3 (2018) Fiber test results AFD 19.9 Micron SD 4.7 Microns

Description

This golden boy will knock you off your feet!! The incredible Red Granites Man of Mystery and Bomber's Diamond Lil (who comes from one of our most influential roan lines) have created one special young male. At 7-months old he tested AFD 16.67, SD 3.4, CV 20.7 and at 21-months old he tested at AFD 17.7, SD 2.9, CV 16.2 - incredible!! Note the improvement of uniformity and a slight change in micron. This is to be expected from a Man of Mystery son. He is of roan coloration and is filling out nicely. Defiantly a boy to watch out for. AOA pending.
