Snowmass Blue Divine (we call him Blue) is a modern rose grey - might not be SUPER obvious in this picture but yes folks - modern he is and in the knick of time. I have some pretty outstanding modern studs but we were needing another cross and this guy fits the bill perfectly... In 2015, he had an AFD of 16.6 / SD 4.1 In 2016, he had an AFD of 15.5 / SD 3.1 In 2017, he had an AFD of 14.7 / SD 3.2 So, every year, he got finer. And is he dense? Yes, he is. A 2018 biopsy by Ian Watt confirms it: With 91.8 follicles/sqmm, Blue is the densest male Ian has tested that is darker than light fawn. According to the database, he is the 4th densest, period. (Biopsy under "Histogram.") Is he likely to pass it on? Well, his full brother's histogram numbers are similar, so I think so. Blue's pedigree is a serious study in careful line-breeding, with 3x Hemingway, 2x Legacy, 3x Bueno and the great Maree Love twice, somewhat close-up. Despite this, his lineage is extremely genetically diverse. As a rare son of the great Snowmass Divine Love, who was recently exported and whose lineage has been carefully guarded, he is an outstanding outcross to most all of our herd -- and to most other elite lineages. Then, of course, he wouldn't be here if he wasn't a darned handsome guy to look at. He's got the head. He's got bone, coverage, a nice, deep body and an ultra-compact, boxy stature -- and TONS of presence. This guy is on lockdown as he hasn't performed quite yet so this year (2023) he has dates... a number of them. By 2024, we should have a good look at how he is doing. More to come. He did sire a male out of my loaded modern grey female (Inga Cloud/Cupid/Bomber/Silver Lining) and the little guy looks amazing (b. 2023; named Shogun). Lil was one of three animals I took to my first show EVER. She was one of two females and I also brought a rose grey male. Lil and her female friend were both yearlings and they BOTH won championships. My grey male got a first in his first show. Needless to say - what a way to start out. Lil has an outstanding pedigree. Her Dad is Bea-2 Bomber (who I own) and her Mom is a Cupid's Delilah out of Inga Cloud (who I also own) and Cupid (who I also own). Are you getting the picture? This lineage Inga Cloud/Cupid/Bea-2 Bomber has produced some of the most outstanding offspring and Lil is no exception. And they are all HERE at Willow Wind Farm. Lil is a compact sturdy female - just the way we like them. Her fleece is super dense like her granddad Cupid and has the fineness and brightness of character like her Dad Bomber. Lil was bred to Silver Lining and delivered the most amazingly beautiful modern grey female in Sept 2019 we named Halo. And so.... The epic saga continues. Lil gave birth to another Silver Lining cria summer of 2021. His name is Echo Delta and we cant wait to get him in the show ring. Another modern grey. This boy is a replica of Mom. Sturdy. Full Coverage. Dense. And ample fineness and character in that fleece. Lil was bred back to Man of Mystery... well, because we just wanted to try out that combination. I CANNOT WAIT for these offspring to hit the ground this year. Her density. His density. Her fineness matched with his ultra fineness. Its gonna be crazy wonderful we think. And so it is! A dark fawn male with such AMAZING fiber traits. He runs. He jumps. This guy is a solid colored Man of Mystery offspring. And he looks really promising. Lil will be bred in Spring 2023 for a 2024 cria - we arent totally sure which outstanding male to pair her with..... We think he is a tux (wink wink) and we think the results will be memorable.
