Look out for a donated breeding at the 2025 AOA National Show! First, you have to thank Red Granite for delivering such an outstanding male. Second, you have to thank Kitt Hollister for selling you her herd, including this outstanding male, and if I could reduce the lack of hesitation in making that purchase, I could in fact reduce it to this one male. From Kitt: "The best way to introduce this male is using the facts. First: YES, he is a true Harlequin. His great grandsire, Black Epic, is one of the most prolific Harlequin Appaloosa producers out there. His spots are subtle as his coloring is very light, a most stunning lavender rose grey. They are there, however, and there is no question that his extraordinary coloration is the result of the Harlequin Appaloosa gene." At 127.2 follicles/square mm density, Man of Mystery is the densest alpaca yet biopsied by Ian Watt in the USA, and I have not yet heard of a denser alpaca out there. With a primary SD of 2.5, secondary SD of 2.2, and fiber population differential of 3.5, he is also one of the most uniform. To quote Ian Watt directly, "overall this is the best alpaca I have tested in the US." His yearling histogram, at 16.0 AFD and 3.1 SD, is fine. His two year old histogram, at 17.3 AFD and still a 3.1 SD, is fine. His 2019 AFD, calculated off of his biopsy, is 16.9. So, he's fine, and he's staying fine, which is to be expected. Why? Well, his sire, CCNF Legionnaire, has a 6 y/o AFD of 17.3 with an SD of 3.5, and his dam's 5 y/o histogram was 20.5 with an SD of 3.5 -- impressive for any color, but stunning for a TRUE BLACK. So, here we go: unbelievably dense, uniform, and fine. As the pictures show, this fleece is, as expected, also quite beautiful -- bright bright bright, with a high-frequency crimp that stamps it as truly elite. He also has a decent staple. So far, he has thrown pattern 80+% of the time. His crias demonstrate his unique coloring and fantastic fiber statistics! He's produced blacks with 16 micron fleeces adn 2.9 SDs, and appaloosa/harlequins with 17.9 microns and 3.6 SDs. Be on the lookout. This guy is restricted but his kids are not... Much much more to come.

Outrageous fleece character

Willowwind' GF Solstice

HuacayaOpen (Female)Medium Fawn
AOA# 35041337DOB: 6/22/20168 yrs
The SWEETEST GIRL! Solstice has remarkable fleece character and density. She has competed really well in fawn, getting a couple of second places at NWSS in competitive light classes. Both her sire (Justified) and her Dam (Satin) did their best by this female. Solstice was bred to Silver Lining in 2018 and had a gorgeous black boy. We named him Bo Sean. I am REALLY looking forward to taking him into the ring. With all the events of the last couple of years - we didnt do very well accomplishing that task. Bo Sean will be entering the ring this spring as an almost three year old. When you have a TB male with this degree of fineness and character - its a must. More to come Solstice was bred to Bomber in 2020 and had a rose grey blue eyed boy who is a total trip. Strangest blanket pattern - he appears brown on a significant white background but his bonnet is clearly rose grey. We named him Sly Fox because he is... a Sly fox. Very silly guy who is developing nicely. Solstice was bred back to Man of Mystery - that combination is likely to be earth shattering. Her density and character to his extreme density fineness character and well - just everything he has to offer... If we get a harlequin out of that pairing - watch out WORLD. And we did!! A female. And she has spots. And her fleece - its so dense I cant get to skin. And and and...... We are going to repeat this breeding in Spring 2023; well because we can! I just adore this female. Histogram results: 2017: 19.3/4.1/21.1/1.6 2018: 21/4.6/21.9/4.0 2019: 22.6/5.1/22.4/6.2

Description

Sold! Congratulations to Alison Minch of Roaring Acres Alpacas on purchasing Conspicere, Ethereal, and Meticulous! Willowwind' Conspicere is a simply stunning young male!! He is sired by Red Granites Man of Mystery and out of Willowwind' GF Solstice. Those two combine: Sunny Mesa's Tuscan Gold, CND Accoyo Bizcocho, Snowmass Nova, Snowmass XXXtreme, Snowmass Matrix Majesty, SA Peruvian Black Epic, and Snowmass Legacy Gold. Genetic OVERLOAD!! Conspicere has an abundance of wonderful fleece. It is a wonderful fawn grey coloration (harlequin) with some spots here and there on his blanket. Great density levels within the staples, high-frequency, medium-amplitude style. Brightness +++ with exceptional uniformity of micron as you move across his body, head to toe. He keeps his fleece architecture well under his belly, too. Long stapling fleece too. He is appropriately sized for his age; nice bones. Very nice phenotype and style to him as well. He was not cria shorn. A very showey boy who can WIN! Now is your chance to upgrade you harlequin/spotted program with my best yet! Breed UP folks! AOA registration pending. Will be weaned and halter trained by time of sale.
