Viper started his breeding career at NorthCoast in the fall of 2017. He is truly a product of his genetics. We bred our top producing female, NorthCoast Mercury's Meribella to Ventura based on their outstanding fleece characteristics. Meribella had a show stopping fleece as a young female out of RAL Titan's Mercury Rising and NorthCoast Pacifico's Isabella... it was a Suri type fleece with long, thick, bright locks which laid flat like a Suri a style known as a "silky". Her fleece was so astounding that we bought her sire right after she was born. Viper's sire, Ventura, was given the highest recommendation by his owner, Larry Johnson, as his best fleece producing male and he certainly proved correct with this young male. Viper is a smaller male with excellent conformation and curb appeal. A terrific looking male with the entire package when evaluating his fleece. Unlike many alpacas at the high end, he has very good staple length along with high frequency crimp with micro bundling, brightness, excellent density and uniformity across the blanket and into the extremities. Our greatest challenge with him in his younger days was his fleece picking up junk and getting trashed. We were disappointed when his fleece was too matted and debris-filled to show for his juvenile and yearling show seasons. His fleece at over 2.5 years has all the characteristics we are breeding for. He has a small black spot on the inside of his left front leg so believe he may carry black genetics. This has proven out as Viper produced a true black cria out of a white dam, NorthCoast Thunderstruck. We are offering limited outside breedings to Viper. I strongly recommend this male and believe he can improve on most any colored or even white alpaca.

Description

NorthCoast Fancy Pants was a bit of a surprise as she was born an appaloosa spotted alpaca. She is out of one of our top El Nino's Accoyo Michelangelo daughters, NorthCoast Jewel of the Nile, and NorthCoast Ventura's Viper, a solid dark fawn. Jewel is one of our heaviest fleece producers with excellent density, staple length and fineness. We have rebred this pair to see if they can do it again. Fancy is a very calm and friendly young female who will likely be somewhat smaller in size judging by the parents and current weight gain. Her fleece is bright white with light brown spots including her "belt" around her waist which is where her name came from (and was suggested by another breeder). Her fleece is highly organized and uniform even now as it is quite short after her cria shearing. We will raise her until she is ready to leave should an appaloosa breeder decide to purchase her.
