Madrone, born on 7/8/2019 is a male alpaca that has a stunning appearance from head to tail. Madrone has very consistent crimpy fiber, and his conformation is sure to make your mouth water. He was born weighing 16.5 pounds and gained 3 pounds in just four days, which is an impressive feat. We are excited about his promising future and can't wait to see him grown to his full potential.
Madrone comes from an impressive ancestry. His sire, KCF Isidoro (ARI # 32736311) Light Fawn is a true champion who has sired many champions in his career. His dam, KCF Peruvian Bombshell (ARI # 35133090), Dark Brown, is also an impressive female alpaca that resides at our ranch.
The Pacific Madrone Tree, also know as Arbutus Menziesii, is a tree native to the Western Coastal areas of North America, from British Columbia to CA. It is known for its striking appearance, featuring a smooth reddish-brown bark and glossy green leaves that turn into a beautiful bronze color in the fall. The Madrone tree also has a lignotuber near ground level that provides fire-resistenet storage of energy and sprouting. This unique feature has made the Madrone tree an importants part of the ecosystme in western coastal areas.
9/22/24 Madrone is the sire to 2 female crias this year. The first born on 9/2/24, to Sawdust's Jarrah - now owned by Casey Alpacas - is named Keita. Our Sawdust's Chrysanthus was born on 9/6/24 to Sawdust's Jessinia. Chrysan weighed 17.4 lbs at birth and has been very active and independent since her arrival. She is very conformationally correct and has beautiful curly medium fawn fiber, very much like her sires. We will definitely be showing her next spring.
