SuriHerdsire (Male)True Black
AOA# 31445931DOB: 9/13/200816 yrs
Belefonté proudly displays his beautiful black, dense fiber in tight pencil locks to the skin with outstanding luster covering correct conformation with good bone density. He has a beautiful typey head and a stunning presence. Everyone who lays hands on this male is amazed by his silky cool fleece dripping with luster rarely seen on a jet black animal. We have personally found this male to have a very sweet disposition that fits perfectly with our high standards! Belefonté's 2010 success story includes three blue ribbons and Color Champion at 2010 AWE and he did it again at the highly competitive 2010 GWAS with another Color Championship. Under stiff competition of 2009 AOBA Nationals (over 800 suris in attendance) Judge Tim Lavin said Belefonté was clearly the winner in his class of nine juvenile true blacks from the best breeding programs in the Nation. His show record to date includes 16 Blues, 4 Color Championship and 2 Reserve Color Championships. His offspring are also doing well in the showring. His four generation Suri pedigree is heavily weighted with blacks and deep color so this is not a guessing game when it comes to decisions for your dark females. If you are looking for a deep black with exceptional locks, luster, density, and a powerhouse pedigree in a herdsire that is of smaller frame at #160#, Belefonté deserves serious consideration. We only offer drive-by breedings but will consider traveling to your female within 100 miles of our ranch. Update: Congratulations to Hidden Creek Alpacas on their full ownership in this amazing male!

We are very pleased to have added this Champion female to our foundation herd. Her genetic makeup is from the top lines in the nation with her Peruvian Macgyver and 6Peruvian Rufino grandsires in the mix and both her sire and dam are Champions. Pearls was bred to Painted Black for her 2018 Blue black female Cria that is exactly what we were hoping for and 2020 was another female. We repeated that breeding for her true black 2021 female offspring. Pearls was bred to WLK Jamayo for another black cria in 2022 that is stunning. Jamayo has sired five true black Cria as his first offspring begin arriving. They are amazing and this latest criai s no exception!

Description

Bijou is a son of 4-time banner winner GVA Belafonte who (like his half-sister, our own Mojolica) kept his fiber fineness as he aged. Belafonte's AFDs were 25.7 and 26.8 at ages 12 and 13. Pretty respectable for a black male. Bijou's dam, Tanglewood Black Pearls, is no slouch in the pedigree category either. Her sire is 9-time banner winner Sierra Bonita's Sirius Black and her dam, Serenity Linn, is the result of a linebreed of two of 6Peruvian Rufino offspring. And who is 6Peruvian Rufino? The sire of Arizona Sage and maternal grandsire of SBS Crown Prince. Bijou has gorgeous luster, excellent conformation and carries himself with a proud, confident presence. Despite his "macho" appearance, he is kind and easygoing with the other alpacas and he is an absolute joy to lead and handle. We are looking forward to many outstanding crias from this terrific male and we want to thank Lona Frank of Alpacas of Tulatin Valley for letting us add this incredible male to our herd.
