#4 Male in the Nation in fleece from the Fall 2022 to Spring 2023 show season! Red Granites Legit has been a standout since birth and we are very excited to present him to the alpaca industry. This male combines the top breeding herdsires in the country with a great maternal pedigree and a million-dollar fine, bright, dense, and very uniform BLACK fleece that can rarely be found today. Legit was awarded the 2021 AOA National Black Male Reserve Champion banner at the 2021 AOA National Fleece Show. He is combined and nine-time champion male, respectfully. Judges have called him a “full package male” as well as something that black huacaya breeders should strive to produce. His uniformity is what has blown the judges away at every show he has attended. He was recently awarded the 2023 AOA National Black Male Reserve Color Championship banner in Walking Fleece! It's not every day you find a BLACK male of this quality with a fleece that has lingering fineness, extreme softness, density, and uniformity, especially a black male with a great set of EPDs to go with his striking good looks. He is a male we will be retaining for our breeding program to cover over our top black and colored females. Legit stands on big bones, very strong front and rear ends, a perfect huacaya head, and a pedigree that is as hot as any in the seed stock breeding business. Out of our super popular Red Granites Val D Lsere that has progeny winning all over the country and was just recently awarded the 2021 Futurity Herdsire of the Year (Large Breeder Division), 2021 Futurity Herdsire of the Year Dark-Colored Offspring & 2021 Futurity Reserve Herdsire of the Year Light-Colored Offspring. To find a BLACK National Champion son of him is currently very rare in many cases as he produced mainly females. By one of our most prized production females, Irish Meadows' My Lacy an AOA National Fawn Female Color Champion winner. She is the dam of Red Granites Lapu a male who we recently sold for a very pretty penny to Nancy Chapel to help enhance her black breeding program. My Lacy has produced our very BEST dark-colored animals despite having nothing darker than fawn in her pedigree. Her offspring have won the AOA National Fleece Show Male Black Reserve Champion banner for two years in a row (Red Granites Lapu & Red Granites Legit), an estimate of her actual potency in producing the finest colored animals. His progeny have now hit the ground. All carry extremely BRIGHT fleeces that are extremely fine and flashy for their young ages. Legit will become a cornerstone Stud Male, we are certain of it!! With LEGIT we've struck BLACK GOLD. Fiber and Fleece Description Bright, Fine, Uniform crimp structuring throughout with excellent brightness Extreme density is displayed all across his body.....extremely low primary fibers that almost look non-existent over his entire blanket.

Description

Red Granites Genuine has one of the densest fleeces of our 2024 cria class, and that says a lot considering two things. One, she is dark-colored, specifically true black, and two, we had over 70 crias born. Looking forward to watching this female grow and develop!!
