Alpaca Palace Legend's Rising Sun

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)White
AOA# 35401346DOB: 5/8/20177 yrs
Can't say enough good things about this boy! We’re so excited about him! We just got to see two of his first offspring at the Buckeye Fall Fest and they’re beautiful!! (His son, Alpaca Palace Superman, has 3 Championships as a 2-year old. His daughter, Alpaca Palace Girlfriend, also has a Championship as a 2-year old. A few weren't shown, and he only has 6 on the ground so far due to a divorce.) Sunny's fleece is amazing at almost 6 years old! His 2023 histogram (as a 6-year old!) puts his fleece stats at 18.5 micron with only 0.4 % over 30 microns and an SD of 3.8! “Sunny” has the softest fleece I may have ever sunk my hands into — the soft staples break into incredible little matchstick bundles full of a well-defined crimp and brightness, and he's maintaining uniformity and fineness across his blanket. His histogram at 5.9 YEARS old is phenomenal with a Grade 1 fleece! We had the opportunity to see 2 of his first offspring at the 2022 Buckeye Fall Fest and they were stunning! If there had been a third offspring there, he probably would have had a good shot at winning Get of Sire. And, we got to see a 3rd offspring at the 2023 Buckeye Fall Fest (belonging to none other than Randy Strong, and Barb Sodums of Strong Shepherd Alpacas)! Randy assisted in the herd dispersal of Alpaca Palace, and he now says we got a steal of a deal on Rising Sun. I agree. Rising Sun is making phenomenal offspring!!! The whole reason we decided to purchase Sunny is that we have first hand experience in a breeding to his sire that produced one of our best foundation females. We've bred her dam to Sunny knowing that the whole genetic package is a powerhouse -- and Sunny's dam brings in the amazing genetics of Houdini. Based on what we’ve seen in Sunny and his sire's offspring, we expect excellence in Rising Sun’s future offspring! We're pretty sure he'll produce offspring that are able to produce the kind of fleece we all want even as they age. Rising Sun's sire, Snowmass Legend Rising, was a legend in his own right -- with 4 Judges Choice banners, including one at the 2015 AOA National Show -- a National Supreme Champion! Judges commented "...this is what we're breeding for..." Advanced fleece, strong frame. Rising Sun's dam, Houdini's Vixen, was a Champion female who produced champions, and she carried an AFD of less than 18 microns, with a CF of 98.9 at 5 years old -- that's lasting fineness!

Dam: Nimbus Farm's Rowena

Beautiful Female Sired by Kodiak

Nimbus Farm's Rowena

HuacayaBred (Female)Medium Brown
AOA# 35571391DOB: 3/10/20204 yrs
Rowena is a quality foundation female—gorgeous reddish brown fleece, perfect conformation, outstanding genetics and a calm and endearing personality—and don’t forget those fuzzy ears! Rowena is currently bred to Man in the Moon’s Peruvian Cerberus, a Ganymede son, for her Spring 2025 cria. Rowena delivered a beige male cria, Aramis, out of Alpaca Palace Legend's Rising Sun, on 6/14/24. Just like his half brother, he was up and raring to go! He’s a nice big boned boy. Rowena delivered a MB male, Kylo, who is a carbon copy of herself on 4/22/23. He was raring to go the minute he hit the ground! Rowena is a great mom and both are doing well. Kylo's sire, Amber Autumn Blue Northern, is an incredible light silver gray male that has multiple championships and a Judges Choice banner. We’re hoping Rowena’s third cria out of Cerberus will be amazing!

Description

"Ara" is a handsome dude!! He has extremely nice fiber...new photos coming soon...but he won't make it to our show string. He's one of the most inquisitive young alpacas on the farm. He'll come up to inspect your rake and poop scoop, and at the same time he's friendly, but not over-friendly. You'll see him jump with all 4 feet in the air fairly often. He's exuberant and he loves leading the cria races out in the pasture at dusk. He'll make a great companion to an all boy group...and his fiber's not too shabby either! Depending on your purpose, Ara may even make a great herdsire for a fiber farm. His fleece is buttery soft to the touch, with very good uniformity across his blanket. Ooh, the yarn from this boy's fiber will be beautiful!! Note: Alpacas are herd animals. We're happy to sell you a group of 3 - 5 same sex alpacas, or you can add them to your current herd. Our best pricing comes with a purchase of three or more alpacas. Please contact us to discuss.
