Half-Interest Now Available! As we refine our herdsire list, we’ve made the hard decision to let our share of ownership go in 7X Champion, six year old grey stud, Ambrose of Milan. We now have his genetics infused solidly in our herd going forward through his multiple daughters and a future stud replacement. It’s now time to let him keep working his magic for someone else’s herd. With his daughters now being old enough to breed, we’re excited to see what his next generation will produce! Ambrose is a solidly built male with a boxy frame and stout build. He is dense, dense, dense and has sired some excellent offspring for us across a wide variety of dams, providing us rose and silver greys, beautiful fawns, and some excellent browns. With 12 of his daughters now folded back into our program, we’re ready to let him do the same for you while we work on the daughters and the next generation. Ambrose has done a fabulous job of building our foundation herd and his legacy will continue long and strong at Epic Alpacas. Ambrose is the complete package - a fantastic rose grey stud who has 7 Championships under his belt from highly competitive shows, beating a Futurity Champ and many other multiple banner winners! He retired from his show run and settled into his breeding career, with his first cria hitting the ground in Fall of 2015. Ambrose is 5th generation grey out of two grey parents and is packed with grey genetics. His sire, ATV Adonnis was a legend in his own time, taking 14 banners until his untimely death in March 2015. He leaves behind a spectacular legacy of cria that have gone on to be color champions and blue ribbon winners in their own right. Adonnis passed along everything he had when he sired this boy - fineness, crimp, density, phenotype, coverage, and more. Ambrose's fleece continues to be so fine and buttery soft even a couple of years into his breeding career. Have a look at this male and get your hands on him - you'll never want to let go! This girl has some impressive ancestry both in production and color. Ella is a compact female. She looks so much like her cria picture with her Mom, just a bit taller! She seems to take on the sires attributes extensively so I'm looking forward to putting this girls with several of my studs. It is nice that she is new blood to my herd. Her 2017 daughter is a super solid msg sired by Ambrose of Milan (Epic Alpacas). Her 2018 daughter is a black tipped dark brown. Very squared up and healthy. 2019 brought her first son who is a stunning light silver grey boy from our mrg stud JJA Royal Wrangler. We've named him Wrangler's Rascal. 2020 update: Rascal got a little darker to medium silver grey, great handle of silky crimpy fiber. He didn't have much crimp as a newborn but boy did it come in nice as a weanling. He has been sold. On August 2 Ella had a look alike daughter that we named Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds as one eye has a patch of crystal blue that seems to flicker. Primus is the sire of this girl and I think it is Ella's best yet. At this point very light silver grey blanket with grey ears, topkot and a black rectangle on her hind leg. Look at the picture here of Ella as a cria and that is Lucy! She is a very robost healthy girl! Sorry, as much as I crop it the bottom photo won't stay vertical. Enlarge to see that corkscrew fleece! We gave Ella a year off from the maternity mode. When she is ready to breed she just comes up to her people and as soon as you touch her she cushes which makes breeding forecasting very easy. In full disclosure, it took Ella a long time to be "normal" as she was sold 3 times in a short time frame and trust was a huge issue. Now that she has matured mentally and gained trust of humans she should be much better if we sell her but that's a big if. I really like this girls offspring! 2022: Ella had a Seriously Silver male cria that is stunning! She was rebred to Seriously Silver again on 7/4/2022! Unfortunately, on May 11th we discovered that she had been pregnant with twins-so rare. The placenta wasn't able to sustain one and since it wasn't delivered, it diseased the other. We had to manually retrieve them and are now treating her so she doesn't become septic as the vet said the cria died between 1 and 2 weeks ago. She will not be bred until next year, 2024. June 2024. Ella is waiting for her new owner to decide which of our studs to pair with her before taking ownership. Seriously Silver or Primus would be a great choice. Can almost guarantee a grey. July 2024 Ella has been bred to Seriously Silver for a June 2025 cria. This price covers the price of one grey female and Ella has a handful of pregnancies left in her. Great deal!

Update: Primus is a grey maker! He has made grey even with brown and bay black girls without the grey parents. He has also made gorgeous blacks. One just born from a bay black girl looks just like him. He was born on August 1st 2024. Color Champion at 41.5 mths!! Judges have really liked him but CC has been going to the much younger animals. The fact that he is still so soft with consistency and long staple AS A BREEDER along with perfect conformation was appreciated! See his stats. only 2.6 micron difference between min and max micron!!! Primus has a very buttery handle to his fleece due to the consistency of his fine fiber and density. His yarn is incredibly soft-like a white cria fleece! His sire BMF Taos Zepplin is known for putting out blacks. He was the 2013 AOBA Black Male Fleece Champion. His histogram stats are very impressive starting with a 15.7 AFD and a 2.8 S.D. on his first fleece and at 5 yrs old still had a 20.4 micron and a CV of 19.9. I fell in love with PHA Peruvian Taos (his sire) when he was here in Wisconsin. Judge stated at the recent MOPACA show that he was a very close second and was very impressed with his long, healthy fleece that hand an excellent handle, something not often seen in greys to that extent. He has been showing as a 40 mth old this year and has had very limited competition yet had super nice comments from the judges that included "I doubt that there is a more robust male out there", "very little difference in micron throughout fleece", "perfect phenotype", "extreme staple especially given his age". Primus' first offspring is a black male from a black female. Super fine, dense fleece! Primus is going back to Nationals in 2020. He'll be 4 yrs and 4 mths old (52 mths) but I honestly can't see that his fleece has changed in the last 2 yrs! We have bred him a couple times for 2020 cria. We should have entered him in the mature males. Thought his retained fineness and no guard hairs would impress the judge, they did but she didn't take into account his being 1 1/2 yrs older than the others. Walking fleece he took 3rd! He is such a sweet, easy to handle guy.
