Look out for a donated breeding at the 2025 AOA National Show! First, you have to thank Red Granite for delivering such an outstanding male. Second, you have to thank Kitt Hollister for selling you her herd, including this outstanding male, and if I could reduce the lack of hesitation in making that purchase, I could in fact reduce it to this one male. From Kitt: "The best way to introduce this male is using the facts. First: YES, he is a true Harlequin. His great grandsire, Black Epic, is one of the most prolific Harlequin Appaloosa producers out there. His spots are subtle as his coloring is very light, a most stunning lavender rose grey. They are there, however, and there is no question that his extraordinary coloration is the result of the Harlequin Appaloosa gene." At 127.2 follicles/square mm density, Man of Mystery is the densest alpaca yet biopsied by Ian Watt in the USA, and I have not yet heard of a denser alpaca out there. With a primary SD of 2.5, secondary SD of 2.2, and fiber population differential of 3.5, he is also one of the most uniform. To quote Ian Watt directly, "overall this is the best alpaca I have tested in the US." His yearling histogram, at 16.0 AFD and 3.1 SD, is fine. His two year old histogram, at 17.3 AFD and still a 3.1 SD, is fine. His 2019 AFD, calculated off of his biopsy, is 16.9. So, he's fine, and he's staying fine, which is to be expected. Why? Well, his sire, CCNF Legionnaire, has a 6 y/o AFD of 17.3 with an SD of 3.5, and his dam's 5 y/o histogram was 20.5 with an SD of 3.5 -- impressive for any color, but stunning for a TRUE BLACK. So, here we go: unbelievably dense, uniform, and fine. As the pictures show, this fleece is, as expected, also quite beautiful -- bright bright bright, with a high-frequency crimp that stamps it as truly elite. He also has a decent staple. So far, he has thrown pattern 80+% of the time. His crias demonstrate his unique coloring and fantastic fiber statistics! He's produced blacks with 16 micron fleeces adn 2.9 SDs, and appaloosa/harlequins with 17.9 microns and 3.6 SDs. Be on the lookout. This guy is restricted but his kids are not... Much much more to come.

So A Paca Fun Intrigue (13X Champ) Daughter True black and beautiful With a Mom; a Legacy granddaughter and while she may be 11 She is a power house. Stunning Girl And her histogram for 2023 (age 10) 22.8 Micron 3.7 SD 16.4 CV with some pretty nice structure and organization to her fleece. She came to me with a toddler who is SO impressive by Man of Mystery; see Minuit Noir. year 2 histo: 16 micron 2.9 SD; Mind Blowing. She came in with cria (2021) AND pregnant to Troubadours Riddler for 2022. Licorice does not disappoint - she gave birth to a beautifully brown colored young female (2022) we named Justine H (Justy). See pics. Histo year 1: 15.9/3.4/21.1/100% (See?) We bred her to Sonic Shift (2022) and she had an outstanding little tux grey boy that is likely to land in the ring late Spring and Fall 2024. BRIGHT BUNDLED and LOOOOOOOONG Staple. His fiber is so fine. And appears to be beautifully consistent. See pic. This girl got promoted to foundation the minute she walked off the trailer. Very impressive female. Thank you to Kitt Hollister for sending her my way. :) We might pair her with one of our outstanding appaloosa boys this spring.... Black on Appy = Harlequin? Eke!

Description

Oh Lord. I know she has Howling Hill in her name. LOL. And I am devoted to my friend Kitt. But this is my baby. :) She came trotting off the trailer with her Mom about a month old back in September 2021. Mom is Glacier Rocks Licorice, an A Paca Fun Intrigue (13X Champ) daughter and she is no slouch. Check her out (because she herself is a keeper) Dad is Man of Mystery and this (I believe) is his first ever offspring. And Man of Mystery gets his own spotlight; well, just because, for all the males I have owned and own - on paper he is outstanding but his offspring are also proving to be their own outstanding lot. Noey is perfectly conformed (IMO); a tiny bit small for her age to start but has grown into herself over the last two years. Her second year fleece tested: 16 micron AND (drum roll) Her SD is 2.9 (wildly uniform) CF 100% and so forth. I am uniquely impressed with her. And I continue to be impressed by her sire and his capacity as well as her Mom and her capacity. For now - she remains. She will be bred this coming season (2024) and then we wait. With baited breath. Who should her date be?
