CHAMPION GREY FEMALE!

Sutton Taji's Sweet LoveBred

Alpaca, Huacaya, Yearling Female | Light Rose Grey

AOA #36165445 | DOB: 7/15/2023 (1 yr) (Due Date: 1/1/1900)

Sire: Plum Creek's Taji

MULTI CHAMP GREY!!!

Plum Creek's Taji

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 36088973, CLAA# 50015DOB: 5/15/20195 yrs
GENOTYPE: Ee a1a2 Classic Grey We are so thrilled to have added this fantastic new classic grey male to our lineup! Plum Creek’s Taji made its way to Canada mid-summer 2022 and we are expecting his first offspring in 2023. Taji’s typey conformation, solid square frame and superior fleece qualities are everything we look for in a classic grey herdsire and he will certainly be a great successor to Wingman, our Bomber son, who is now back in the US. Taji is one of only 2 registered classic grey son sired by Bellarmine (ATV Adonnis)…the other one being Crescent Moon’s Emmaus! Taji’s MSG dam, Estates Yanni, has retained beautiful fineness and uniformity with age (4th fleece: 18.8 | 3.9 | 1.2% >30 | MC 47.4). No surprises here as she comes from prominent grey lineage in NS Magic Flight (Snowmass Enlightenment) and more great lineage in Patagonia’s Ernesto (Patagonia’s Lennox). Being the product of excellent bloodlines, it's no surprise that Taji has done extremely well in both halter and fleece shows and that his fiber stats are simply delightful! We cannot wait to start creating our next generation of awesome greys with this boy! Taji will remain exclusive for 2022 and will be opened to outside breedings in 2023. We wish to thank Brian and Valerie from Plum Creek Alpacas for allowing us to bring Taji into our program! UPDATE: Taji's first two crias in Canada both win Grey Colour Champion at their first halter show! The judge had very similar comments for both juvies pointing out a great combination of positive fleece traits and confirmation traits. Both juvies displayed a high degree of organization thanks to incredible fineness and uniformity of micron combined to above average follicular density; a combination that is more rarely found in classic grey! We are absolutely thrilled with these results and comments and we look forward to many more offspring from this amazing male!

Dam: Sutton Divine Shimmer

Cryptic Grey Divine Love Daughter!!!

Sutton Divine Shimmer

HuacayaBred (Female)White
AOA# 36006175DOB: 7/3/20204 yrs
GENOTYPE: coming Spring 2023! (We expect Shimmer to be an eeAa but we are mainly getting her genotyped to see if she is carrying the classic grey pattern from her dam...) Bingo! Genotype received March 2023: ee Aa1 Classic Grey!!! (We suspected this all the long but this is great news for our program, this girl is a cryptic grey!) A gorgeous little girl for Saona, our classic LRG multi champion female and sire Snowmass Divine Love…who requires no introduction! What an amazing result it is! We were obviously surprised to see a white cria out of this pairing but she’s is perfect and most importantly, does not have blue eyes! Definitely one of the most delightful fleece we have produced here so far. You can already see great organization within staple thanks to exceptional fineness and uniformity of micron. Density…check! Staple length…check! Conformation…check! Just wow! She might be a white girl but she is out of a multi Color Champ classic grey dam and a fawn 'lavender' colored male so she's certainly carrying the potential to throw color. Shimmer will get genotyped in 2023 so we can have a better idea of what this girl is potentially hiding which will help us make the best breeding decisions moving forward with her...stay tuned!

Description

GENOTYPE: Ee a1a3 Classic Grey Probably one of our most highly anticipated cria of the season, this one definitely did not disappoint! This awesome little female is the result of powerhouse genetics, combining some of the most prominent classic greys in North America. Her multi-champion MRG sire Plum Creek's Taji is one of only 2 registered classic grey son sired by Bellarmine (ATV Adonnis)…the other one being Crescent Moon’s Emmaus! Her paternal grand-dam, Estates Yanni is the product of NS Magic Flight (Snowmass Enlightenment) crossed with solid-coloured Patagonia program lineage. Her maternal grand-sire is none other than Snowmass Divine Love and thanks to genotyping, we also discovered that Sweet Love's white dam is cryptic classic grey! This little girl is definitely packed with awesome grey genetics and the result is nothing short of amazing! Although she is on the petite side (only 12 lbs at birth), Sweet Love has a good growth curve but will possibly always remain on the smaller side (55lbs at 6 months). This is something we have observed when so much energy is put into fleece production in that first year. The amount of fleece this girl is carrying on her smaller frame is unmatched by any classic grey we have produced so far! Her finely crimped and extremely bright fleece also has great uniformity and finesse which gives it a beautiful handle. A truly stunning grey fleece on this girl! We look forward to shearing comes spring as her second fleece might just be even better...if that is even possible! Although the lighter parts of her blanket seems closer to LSG, she was registered as LRG as she does have darker rosegrey spots areas in her fleece. It's one of those lighter classic fleece which can almost go both ways but if we consider fiber processing, rosegrey is the way to go! We will be getting this little one genotyped but we know that based on her colour pattern and her sire | dam's genotype, she can only be Eeaa - Classic Grey. UPDATE: Sweet Love wins Colour Champion Grey Female at her first halter show! Although she was part of a smaller class of classic females, we knew that, despite her smaller size, this girl was worth showing! Judge Robin Nasemann said: "As you can see, this female is smaller in frame but she is compact and well-proportioned and as a juvie, there is more time to grow. You can see great organization at the skin, with good density and brightness. She is the fineness and most uniform in her class. Well done! "
