Sutton Wingman's Simba

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Rose Grey
AOA# 36006007, CLAA# 49069DOB: 7/14/20195 yrs
GENOTYPE: Ee a2a3 Classic Grey Simba is simply an amazing grey male and maybe even one of the most complete grey male we have produced up to now! His light Color Champion dam Sierra is one of our best solid colored female out of the XXXtreme line. She packs on a ton of fiber on a well balanced frame. His sire Wingman has produced some of our most amazing crias with exceptional fleece traits on compact frames. Pairing the XXXtreme line with the Bomber line has worked extremely well on both fleece and conformation! This typey, medium size boy has great substance of bone and packs on a ton of fiber! His fleece has good fineness and uniformity for a grey with his strongest fleece attributes certainly being its character, brightness and density...oh my my!!!! To top it off, he just has the sweetest personality and definitely inherited the calm demeanor from both sides of his pedigree. He is as delightful for the eyes and hands as he is to work with! Born in 2019, Simba is part of our COVID generation that didn't get to show much but he will certainly mature into a great all around rosegrey male and might just be Wingman's legacy to our breeding program! NOW BREEDING!!! Simba's first cria has arrived in 2022 and there are more to come in 2023! Stay tuned...

Dam: Sutton's Firefly

Sutton's Firefly

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Fawn
AOA# 36006021, CLAA# 49070DOB: 6/20/20195 yrs
GENOTYPE: ee a2a3 Non-Grey This gorgeous little female already displays amazing fleece and we could tell as soon as she was born that this one would be special! She was registered light fawn but after looking closer at her first fleece, we can confidently say she's rosegrey. Her classic DSG dam is one of our best grey female who displays amazing fineness, staple length and uniformity. Fiona has done very well in the show ring and is half-sister to 5 time Supreme Champion (Judge Choice) Zotz de Charlevoix. Firefly's grey AOA fleece champion sire Arriba Adonis was a very light fawn at birth but turned out to be grey! She does look light fawn on the outside but clearly has 2 colors of secondaries which is typical of the roaning gene. She might never show in grey but we will see how her fleece does when entered in the light category. She might loose a few points on uniformity of color but we feel confident that her fleece is up to par with actual solid light colored alpacas despite being the product of 2 grey parents! Firefly truly does have an amazing fleece and great conformation and will be an integral part of our grey breeding program for years to come. We look forward to many outstanding crias from this female! UPDATE: Firefly's fleece scored an amazing 81 points at the Alpaga Quebec 2020 Fleece Show!! Facing stiff competition in the Light class, she came in 2nd of her age class and 3rd overall (out of 12 Light entries) just a few points short of Champion and Reserve Champion who both scored 83.5! We are so delighted with these results, especially for a girl that is the product of a classic silver dam and a modern sire! Fleece Judge Comments: Excellent uniformity of micron and density. Very soft handle and very bright fleece!

Description

GENOTYPE: ee a3a3 Classic Grey One would wonder why a classic grey breeder would get excited by a light coloured alpaca right? Well we suspected this boy to be cryptic for the classic grey gene and the results came back as expected. Falkor is a fully diluted black and also carries the classic grey gene! This little male has a jaw dropping fleece (have a look at his 6 month old fleece pic if you haven't already!). Falkor's MRG sire's lineage include Bea2Bombers Wingman (Bomber), MMR Marcoyo and Snowmass Truly XXXtreme. His maternal side includes Amber Autumn's Natiqua who has produced many champions as well as Arriba Adonis, who has also produced many champions in every colour and who, has himself, won Judge's Choice, 3 Spinner's Choice Awards and several Grey Championships including the AOA 2015 National Fleece Show. Falkor was also born with a lighter facial area which leads us to believe that he carries the classic grey gene from his sire. He has clearly inherited great density from both sides as well as above average staple length. His fine, bright fleece does display darker primaries which is typical to fully diluted greys. Although these type of fleeces (lighter with darker primaries) would not do well in show when placed against lighter animals from lighter backgrounds, we do believe that this little male has great breeding potential! When of age, he should be bred to darker females ideally carrying no dilution (EE) and who also covers black (Aa or aa). He will also throw the classic grey gene at a 50% rate when bred to solid. Some exciting stuff awaiting this amazing little male!
