Son-Shine's sire is the ever-popular Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia, a appaloosa/harlequin. Talk about adding color to your herd!! Son-Shine was born spotted as a cria but as he got older, his color has deepened and is more uniform across the blanket. He still has the black spots on his nose and has the cutest phenotype ever. Son-Shine is a compact male yet sheared 9.2 lbs of fabulous fleece in May 2021! Son-Shine is a natural with the ladies. He settled several girls last year and his first offspring arrived on 11/21/21-- A lovely fawn female out of TAG Pepper... an elite-fleeced fawn female purchased from Amber Autumn Auction as a foundation female.

We purchased Pepper as a maiden from at the 2020 Autumn Amber Auction. Pepper is an attractive female with all of the ingredients needed for a wonderful production dam. Sire AOV Accoyo Eros worked his magic crossed over a Jericho/Jeremiah/Mr. President daughter. Throw in some Royal Fawn/Vengador on the top side and what do you get? Pepper!! ... a lovely female with very nice phenotype, an attractive head, strong well-balanced frame and a perfect bite. Her fleece displays density, fineness, staple length, high frequency crimp and uniformity well into her extremities. Pepper’s most recent show results are the 2022 AOA National Fleece show. She received 1st place in her class and the “Most Uniform” award. Judge Wade Gease commented “Impressive density and volume to this fleece along with its micron range and uniformity. Excellent entry!” And Pepper's 2nd fleece was entered in the 2020 AOA National Fleece Show's Innovative Fleece Assessment. A copy of the score card / assessment can be Judge Cheryl Gehly commented "Fine secondaries in this dense, bright, highly aligned fleece!" Pepper delivered her first baby on 11/21/21 out of harlequin male Taupie's Son-shine of DVAF. The result is a lovely light fawn female-- Pepper's Spice Girl of DVAF. In October 2022, offspring, Spice Girl, attended her first show and placed first and Reserve Light Fawn Color Championship. Spice Girl is being offered in the 2023 Education with a Destination Auction - Lot 51. For Pepper's second breeding, she was paired with the wildly spotted harlequin appaloosa herdsire, Apache Gentleman. On 11/10/22 she delivered a handsome harlequin appaloosa male. Even at birth, this male has bundles of bright, dense curls. For more info, on Spirit, please see link below. Pepper's color genotype is ee a1a2. With her double dilute and double black alleles, she can be successful stamping her lovely phenotype and elite fleece across a variety of breeding programs such as black, grey, fawn and even harlequin appaloosa. UPDATE: On 5/30/23, Pepper was bred to our new handsome appaloosa herdsires, Chimbote from MaRS AND Rare Gem X-Man. It was Chimbote's first breeding and a bit short... so we had appaloosa herdsire Rare Gem X-Man cover her as well. Pepper has been spitting on her weekly behavior test since 5/30. Upon birth, DNA will confirm which of these handsome appaloosa males is the sire of the offspring. Pepper is co-owned with Diamond Valley Alpacas.

Looking for appaloosa genetics that won’t compromise quality? Look no further than Chimbote from MaRS! 4th Generation Appaloosa! Stunning fleece with uniform crimp across all color spots. Exceptional staple length. Notable density, especially at a young age. Excellent fiber coverage. Chimbote has a handsome, compact phenotype-- straight front and rear, with heavy bone, perfect bite and a pleasing head style. We have followed Chimbote's genetics for years as his GDam- MaRS Dixie, is the closest appaloosa descendant to LF Del a Burl, the handsome appaloosa male that was exported to Germany. With his departure, these genetics were limited to just two females in the United States-- one of which is MaRS Dixie. Dixie threw Chimbote's sire, the handsome appaloosa stud, MaRS Whaoo. For the first time, these genetics have been made available through the Wahoo offspring. Wahoo is 7 for 7 producing appaloosa and GG-Sire, Burl, in Germany has produced 50+ cria-- the majority of which are appaloosa and/or patterned. This is a very prepotent line for throwing elite-fleeced appaloosas. Chimbote's dam, Liberator's Faith, is a lovely beige female with Snowmass genetics on the top. We are very excited to announce that Chimbote has settled his first ladies and is a natural. His first offspring will hit the ground in 2024. Description

Looking to build a foundation herd for an appaloosa-harlequin program? Here is one for your consideration! Pepper's Spice Girl is a lovely maiden sired by harlequin stud, Taupie's Son-Shine. Spice Girl is a mini-me of her dam, TAG Pepper, who is is proven harlequin appaloosa producer. Spice Girl's GSire, Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia, is a striking, well-proven harlequin appaloosa male. At the time of this writing, he has 53 offspring on the ground of which 74% are expressed appy or harley. Spice is an well-built, elite fleeced girl. She took Reserve Color Champion as a yearling. She only has one spot that we can see, but her color genotype-- ee a1a2 and her appaloosa and harlequin lineage on her sire's side make her an excellent candidate for an appaloosa and harlequin breeding program. Spice Girl has a soft-handle with dense and crimpy fleece. She has curb appeal galore with a pleasing head style-- including butterfly ears! She has a perfect bite, a clean current fecal report from Oregon State University and weighs 138 lbs. Spice Girl was bred to appaloosa stud, Chimbote from MaRS for a September 2024 offspring, This is an exciting pairing with a high probability for appaloosa or harlequin coloration and exquisite fleece.
