Snowmass RRoyal Fox

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 30820500DOB: 7/21/200717 yrs
Fox is going on 17 and acts like he's 10. If you want better fineness EPDs and uniform, fine, pigmented gray fleeces with lots of crimps per inch and essentially no guard hair, he's the one! This line produces lingering 13 to 19 micron pigmented gray fleeces...consistently. Fox's first five fleeces were combined into one lot to make yarn at Heart and Soul and they commented on the uniformity of the lot. Thanks to his sire, Royal Bronze, Fox is a master at overall uniformity, removing guard hair and fining down fleeces and adding more crimps per inch, good staple length, along with deep and vivid colors. He's a SILVER GRAY, SNOWMASS BRED, AOBA NATIONAL COMPOSITE CHAMPION and well proven to produce healthy, correct, typey progeny! He is highly ranked for other traits too. He virtually removes all guard hair, including belly and bib. We attribute this amazing ability to his sire, Snowmass Royal Bronze, who is recognized by Julie Skinner as having recognized as having strong vicuna traits. Density? He has royal fine daughters (see Dream Catcher) with 4+ pound tui blankets and SDs in the 3s. Character? Gray daughter, Mellona, is 14.5 afd, 3.5 cv; 59 curve (not a typo) @ 21 mos. and then a 63 curve the next year! Uniformity? Hardly anything to skirt out of his progeny's fleeces. Offspring have very consistent, uniform and high yielding fleeces...Little to no skirting is needed for these big blanket fleeces. Primary and secondary fibers are very similar, even across colors in the gray fleeces, most of which are pigmented silver grays. In every offspring you will see higher frequency & amplitude crimp. ZERO to minimal guard hair...no matter the dam or color of the cria. You'll likely never see any guard hair on the belly of a Fox offspring. Soundness and health, correct phenotype, conformation and movement. Even dispositions and very intelligent...and even a few silly personalities. Certified Sorted graded Fox's 3 y.o. champion for "WORSTED applications". No W, LF or MF crias and no blue eyes. -Gray dtr, Kristiana (sold at AOBA auction): EPDs 2% fineness and placed: RC, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th; bought her back in 2024. -Gray son (Irish Meadows) - 1st Futurity. -Black dtr. (Irish Meadows) produced a black Champion son by Jacob Black. -Gray dtr. Rayna (Sold to Dusk Till Dawn Alpacas at AOBA auction for $16k)- 1st @ Alpacapalooza 2012; RC/2nd GMAF. -Gray dtr. Silver Truffles - Purchased by Alpaca Country Estates. Other grandkids are winning ribbons too.

Snowmass Matrisia

HuacayaBred (Female)Light Fawn, Medium Fawn
AOA# 30408678DOB: 9/5/200717 yrs
Welcome to Alpacas of the Casa. We are a small farm located in the hills North of Monroe, Washington. We took over ownership of the farm in March of 2019 with an established foundation herd in which our focus has been to keep a small herd of quality animals. As our herd grows, we have several animals to sell to keep our herd size small. Snowmass Matrisia is a medium fawn 15yr old proven female having given birth to many quality cria’s over the years. Her father is Don Juan from Peru. She is a large animal as are many of our animals for a higher volume of fleece. Her fleece weight and % medullation score in the top 5% EPDs with most other categories in the top 25%. Matrisia has been bred to Never Summer’s US Steel of Strawberry Fields Alpaca Ranch. US Steel is a stunning silver grey with extremely fine fleece which will make a very good pairing for Matrisia. US Steel has helped produce many champion offspring and was herdsire of the year in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Cookie cutter crias....Every one of his typey crias have a super soft, uniform, fine, bright, crimpy fleece with good density. The ones that went to the 2023 shows placed in the ribbons! J.T. is producing the type of fleece that has applications for high quality worsted end products. He has a compact build and consistently produces gray and black and maroon color and the fleeces on J.T.'s crias are outstanding for fineness, brightness, uniformity across the blanket, extremely uniformly fine and tight crimp and a handle better than butter. His crias are typey and correct with incredible fleeces and nice, calm dispositions. 2024 Update: His fleece has remained amazing and we are extremely please with his crias. This male has matured into a very special macho who maintains his fleece characteristics to five years and beyond. J.T. has a powerhouse pedigree with Sizlin, Conopa, Jeremiah, and black and gray from Matador, Black Magic and Dom Timbo. His fleece is maroon roan colored, very uniform, very silky soft, extremely dense and fine with tight high frequency crimp, extreme brightness which lends to very silky handle, tiny matchstick bundles packed tight and extension of prime from topknot to knees. He has a compact build, is very typey, stands straight and square and has correct movement in all gaits. Nice, even temperament too.

Description

SOLD - LOT 27 - 2024 Destination Auction. Bred 6/25/24. Shorn 6/5/24 (5# blanket). Thank you to Ridge Valley Alpacas! 100% Snowmass. Quality, reliability and longevity... Another breeder purchased a breeding to "criate" Juliete and I bought her open in '23 because she is hands down the best daughter from her sire who I have has the pleasure to own for 15 years. I also purchased and still own two of her maternal sisters, Mixie and Finale. Juliete: Full Peruvian and full Snowmass including Matrix + XXXtreme + Royal Bronze + Casanova and in the bottom right postions are Legacy Gold and Amberlight. Juliete is ranked top 5% to 12% in five 2024 EPD traits, but has yet to have her own data entered. Juliete has solid conformation, complete coverage, an alert presence and is the herd guardian. She's easy to manage, very smart and loves the crias. Her fleece is very dense with good fineness and organized crimp character. Her 2024 blanket (unskirted) weighs a full five pounds. Parents: She's out of Matrisia (17 years old and pregnant for 2024), a calm and stunning MF own Matrix daughter who is inside 2% for FW. I have two other Matrisia daughters...champion and gray producer Matrix Mix has an EPD FW of 0.3% and Titan's Finale (2nd @ 2 yrs) with seven EPDs in the top 5% to 15% and she produced a gray daughter also. Her 17 year old sire is my 2010 national composite champion Snowmass RRoyal Fox (MSG) who is at 2% AFD. Fox's progeny are intelligent, alert and calm, well built, have less guard hair than their dams and uniformly fine fleeces with dark saturated colors that need very little skirting. Both parents still breeding at 17 yrs. Service Sire: Bred 6/25/24 to super fleece producer NPA Jive Talkin' (aka J.T. - maroon) infusing the lineages of XXXtreme LegacyXXX, Paso Robles, Sizlin, Jeremiah, Black Magic, Matador and Dom Timbo. J.T. won four blues in four showings at 3 and 4 years old..."very uniform" per the judges. J.T.'s crias (TB, MB, MRG, MSG, maroon) are placing in the ribbons and all are typey with extremely fine, soft and bright, tightly crimped, very uniform and *lingering* fleeces. We've crossed other Fox descendants with J.T. and the fleeces are consistently amazing and everything hoped for from this tried and true pedigree combination. See Rocky Rose (MRG)...2nd at both 2024 CABA & AWE in his unshorn cria fleece and 3/4 related to Juliete's future cria. For her future breedings, go to "the Moon" and find a gray Adonnis descendant...from the lineage of P. Andrajo (an Alianza imported with Bueno and Hemingway) who started my herd 27 years ago and his lineage is still in my herd. Thank me later! ;>D Juilete's diet includes mostly pasture, orchard grass hay, Nutri Lux and Mazuri Alpaca supplements (both contain a little flax) and Stillwater 104.
