I had long coveted the lines of CCNF Elixir and those of his legendary sire, Snowmass Elite Legend for their proven production of award-winning alpacas. When the opportunity to acquire a male from these lines was offered, I didn’t hesitate! Alpacajoy Excelsior is one of the first-born offspring out of CCNF Elixir, 5x Judge’s Choice and 3x HoTY, and his only son in Canada. His elite pedigree on his sire’s side traces back to CCNF Archangel, Snowmass Quechua, and 5Peruvian Cangalli. His dam, CCNF Chiquita, is the matriarch of one of Alpacajoy of Norway’s best lines, producing offspring still winning championships at the age of 5 (Alpacajoy Epiphany – Excelsior’s ¾ sister). CCNF Chiquita is a direct daughter of Futurity Champion, Snowmass Messiah, and a granddaughter of Snowmass Accoyocusani. The award-winning descendants from this line in Norway have an impressive show-record history… He showcases a very dense fleece with highly aligned crimp, fineness, great staple length and longevity. With no guard hair on his frame, Excelsior will bring great qualities into our breeding program. Although his show career was cut short while he was in quarantine to be exported to Norway, Excelsior was unbeatable in the Light category, winning Light Colour Champion both times. He attained the score of 83/100 in fleece show with his 3rd fleece. As a breeding male, Excelsior produces offsprings with improved density, barely any visible guard hair on them, superior staple length and wide chest. In 2023, he has improved every dam he was bred to, and will be put on our best females during the 2024 season. With his fawn colour genotype, when bred to whites, his crias are often beige/light. Last cria of the 2020 birthing season and wow Ariva did so well with this one! She's her fourth female in a row! If I had to pick a personal favourite out of our 2020 crias, Auriflamme would stand top class. Her fleece has something unique about it, it stands out of the group with its fineness and handle, mixed with outstanding length to the staple and density, a combination of traits we love to see on one’s fleece… The crimp on that fleece is what’s interesting. It is particularly fine and shows a frequency unseen on our other alpacas out of Magnus and Ariva. I’m still a bit unsure how this fleece could be described but I LOVE IT! Add to that her tall solid frame, outstanding leg fleece coverage, bones, perfect bite and we have a keeper! Although our herd size is back to what we once maintained, the new responsibilities of running our manufacturing facility require us to downsize a bit... We are therefore motivated to sell some animals and will consider respectable offers on selected individuals, Auriflamme is one of them.

Description

Miss Ansoleillée du DNA carries a very fine fleece with superior staple length. Her sire has a tendency to produce “fleece monsters” as we call them, and Ansoleillée is just that! There is also absolutely no guard hair contamination on her blanket, armpits and front area. She carries herself on a solid, compact frame with excellent chest and body capacity. Ansoleillée’s pedigree includes several herdsires that have produced Champions at the most prestigious shows in North America, including the Futurity and Nationals. On her paternal side, she comes from the incomparable line of 3x HoTY CCNF Elixir (Snowmass Elite Legend, Snowmass Quechua) and of Futurity Champion Snowmass Messiah. On her maternal side, she descends from MMR Marcoyo (producer of Futurity Brown Champion and AOBA Nationals Brown Reserve Champion), and Maple Brooks Barnabus. Further away, the genetics of Hemingway is found on both sides. Her dam, Miss Auriflamme du DNA, is the finest daughter in our herd out of 6x Champion Averegan's Magnus. Being a fading light fawn transitioning to beige/white at her mid-side, Ansoleillée shall be bred to increase uniformity in colour, therefore improve uniformity in character and micron from topline to belly. There are 2 fawn spots on her blanket as well. She placed 2nd behind her paternal-sister, Judge's Choice & 2x Champion Miss Aneth du DNA.
