Ganymede will be at AMAF in NY again this Summer! BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT, BUT VA TOO FAR TO GO? Contact us to discuss getting a breeding in VA, NY, or TX. Time is running out to purchase a breeding to Ganymede, the 2017 AOA Nat’l Supreme Champion. Color genotype: ee Aa. Can produce black! He's making Champions & Judges Choice offspring!! Extraordinary Offspring: CNTRL Ganymede's Hannah B, has 22 Championships and 4 Judges Choice awards competing as a fawn female -AND- she is the 2021/22 #5 female in the Nation!! AMAF Islamadora, has 20 Championships, including the 2024 AOA National Championship, and received her first Judges Choice award as a yearling in Fall of 2023! StrongShepherd Juno, is a 16x Champion & JC male, and CCNF (arguably the top breeding farm in the country) purchased half-interest in this incredible male to bring different genetics into their herd! "This male shows extremely strong fiber traits that should be passed to his offspring...Bred to top notch females, you should expect many champions." -- Comments from Dr. Norm Evans' biopsy report SKIN BIOPSY was performed at 30 months of age by Dr. Norm Evans in December 2017. Of note, his 15x scan shows large fiber clusters uniform in shape and placement within his connective tissue. His scan shows only 4 guard type hairs from the 6800+ fibers in his 10 MM tissue punch. His true density is 86.75 follicles per SQ MM of skin. He shows a level 2 of 4 gland structure, with an average S/P ratio of 14.1 to 1, and only 11% of his secondary fibers are medullated which is rare since the average is near 60%. His 250x scan shows the presence of many round secondary fibers, and one hundred typical secondary fibers averaged 17.8 microns — at 30 months old!! According to Dr. Evans 30 months is the recommended age for skin biopsies and gives the most accurate values. Full report available upon request. While Ganymede’s breeding fee is firm, we can offer attractive discounts on any solely owned herdsire in a multiple breeding package. We also have females available that have already been bred to Ganymede or can be purchased with a future breeding to him. Please give us a call to discuss. Ganymede is Co-Owned with Rancho Inca Alpacas located in Navasota TX

Phenomenal girl...All we can say is Wow! She is better than we could have dreamed! Awww, Venus' & Ganymede's Spring 2024 cria arrived on 5/28/24 and she's a bright white beauty! More info on her coming soon. Her Spring 2023 cria arrived on 5/22/23 and he is a light fawn stunner! We have named him Centaurus. Venus produced her first cria on 10/16/20 from a breeding with Ganymede, the 2017 AOA National Supreme Champion, and 4X Judges Choice male...and we absolutely love what we got! It’s a white female that we named Adhara. We bred Venus back to Ganymede for an encore performance and she produced Adhara’s full sister, Carina, on 10/25/21! This is a winning combination! Now that we have three females and a gorgeous male out of Venus and Ganymede, we made the tough decision to breed her with one of our other spectacular studs. Part of me said not to change something that is working so well, but another part of me says we could end up with another female that could be bred back to Ganymede if we breed her to an unrelated male. Decisions, decisions…we decided to breed her to Man in the Moon’s Rigel. I think this will be equally good, but we can always go back to Ganymede next year. MMFA Venus Rising started her show career at the 2018 Showtacular/ NEAOBA/ Empire, and she walked away with two Reserve Color Championships--one of them in front of a Snowmass female and the other right behind CCNF! At the 2019 Heart of Virginia, she walked away with a full Color Championship in front of a beautiful Stillmeadow female. Kevin O'Leary said she is the "total package." She has absolutely stunning fleece. It has staple length, true matchstick bundling, incredible character, fineness, uniformity, and absolutely wonderful handle -- and, there's a lot of it! Venus is out of one of our top stud females, WP Elite Delilah, who is out of The Elite Maximus. Delilah is maintaining an 18 micron AFD at 5 years old! and while we haven't gotten a recent histogram, her fleece is amazing for her age and the number of crias she's had -- definitely one of the best fleeces on the farm. I feel sure her fleece is still less than 20 microns and it still has crimp and a wonderful handle. Venus' sire is none other than Snowmass Legend Rising, a multi-champion white male who garnered 4X Judges Choice awards. The sad news is that he unexpectedly passed in the Fall of 2018--much, much too soon. We had hoped to repeat this breeding. Note: MMFA offers its best pricing on packages of three or more alpacas. Let us know what you're looking for and we can help you find the right package within your budget.

Description

Congratulations to Chris & Lauren of Hardly Farm LLC! We hope this guy is going to be great for both your Agritourism and breeding programs! We have a sneaking suspicion that his fiber will make amazing yarn for years to come. His dam is one of our best and favorite foundation animals, partly because her fiber has stood the test of time, even as a breeding female. We can’t wait to see how Centaurus matures. At the 2024 AOA National Show, Centaurus rose to the top of his class, competing against 8 other young males. The judge cited his fleece uniformity, fineness, and brightness in placing him ahead of the others -- along with his pleasing size and proportions. Centaurus has gorgeous fleece! He also has a nice disposition. His dam is one of our stud females that has produced wonderful offspring for us so far. See her web page for more impressive information. Of course, his sire needs no introduction. Man in the Moon’s Peruvian Ganymede is an AOA National Supreme Champion, and he has produced many champions, and even multiple judges choice offspring. See his web page for more info, too.
