Congratulation to Chris and Amber Gurko of Fulcrum Farm on their purchase of Apple Dumpling! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *Enchanted Hill Apple Dumpling is the stunning result of crossing harlequin male-- Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia with appaloosa female Enchanted Apple. Apple Dumpling is a proven dam, great mother and matriarch of her girls. She has a well-spotted, extremely dense fleece and the cutest butterfly ears. Her sire, "Taupie" is a prepotent homozygous harlequin stud that has over 50 offspring on the ground. Over 70 percent are either appaloosa or harlequin grey. He has champion offspring as well as champion grand-offspring. Apple Dumpling is the first born offspring of Enchanted Hill Apple, owned by Ed and Joan Kinser at the time. They said... of all the alpacas that have been in our herd, Apple is the friendliest, walking right up to strangers and inviting them to do some patting. Apple's dam, Enchanted Hill Appalucy is almost as calm, and is the most sought after of the appaloosas in our herd. All three of these girls, grandma to grand daughter, are just striking. Apple Dumpling will be bred shortly after shearing to a rare gem stud. Stay tuned for more details regarding Apple Dumpling in 2023! Apple Dumpling is brokered by Rare Gem Alpacas.

Description

Iris is a sweet female out of stunning appaloosa female, Enchanted Hill Apple Dumpling. Iris' pedigree is packed with appaloosa genetics, but she missed the memo on the spots-- just one small fawn spot. Iris is a well-built-- solid and straight and proportional. She has a long-stapled fleece with a high frequency crimp style. Iris is one of the most dedicated dam’s we have ever seen. She is very maternal and attentive to her cria. She has ton’s of milk and birthed her first offspring at 341 days, 16.4 lbs. unassisted. Iris is out of two fully expressed appaloosa parents, yet she is white with just one spot. She color genotyped as Ee Aa1. We bred Iris to banner winning true black stud, Rare Gem Sea Senor (EE a1a2) of non-Appaloosa heritage. The outcome was a lovely solid, dark fawn female. For Iris’ next breeding, we plan to breed her to an Appaloosa herdsire.
