WOW! Sire of TWINS! And two of his 2024 crias HAVE COLOR!
This handsome male checks all the boxes! Hailing from the high desert of Oregon, Royal comes from the elite Flying Dutchman herd. He stayed in breeder and AOA judge Amanda V’s sire lineup for several years, where he put three crias on the ground and was a featured sire on the 2021 EWD pen sale website, but she offered him to us at the 2022 EWD event, in hopes that we can use him more. We are in honored to have him in our herd.
Royal has a lovely fleece for an older male with a uniform character, soft handle, and a good staple length; he had enough staple length at 9 YEARS OLD that he could still go to a show! I double checked his staple length because I just did not believe it! Whenever I have him caught, I just can’t help but feel his fiber; it’s soft and inviting to run my hands over, like feeling a thick, warm blanket or gorgeous sweater. He slipped from the top 5% EPDs in 2021 to the top 10% for 2023, but he can still benefit a lot of females out there, and he has two full sisters still in the top 1%. Looking at his histogram, for an 8+ year old male, it’s pretty good…and I bet he was very, very good when he was young, which is how he stayed at FDA until he was 8 years old. 2024 is pending. His 2024 fleece is in the IFA show at Nationals.
We adore his bold personality; he’s absolutely fearless over obstacles. We can point him at any obstacle or situation and he handles it with aplomb. He finished 6th in his very first show over obstacles! Amanda characterized him as “just cool” and she is not wrong. He’s a ton of fun. Colton and I both handle him with ease, and he is happy to wear costumes, hats, and other ridiculousness for our amusement. Royal can be a little difficult with some of our other males at times, but he knows he is royalty and thinks the rest should know it too!
Royal has a solid strong physique with correct conformation. He offers bone, depth, and breadth to lines that may need a little more capacity. I can think of several popular east coast lines that would benefit from his solidity.
10% of all stud fees will be donated to Quechua Benefit, a cause near and dear to our hearts here at HCF. We will also be saving to send Gavin to judging school when he is old enough.

Announcing that he had been bred to FIVE females for May and June crias!
