Spirit is the product of appaloosas and harlequins from both sides of his family tree. His sire, Windspun WSA Patriotic Gentleman, is an appaloosa as well. He's a blue-ribbon winning male that sports a beautiful fleece and strong confirmation. Patriotic Gentleman's sire is the multi-champion Hobby Horse Farm Great Expecations making his grandsire the well-known SA Peruvian Black Epic. Spirit's dam, Excelsior's High Voltage Tazer, has an equally impressive background. She's the harlequin daughter of a very well-known appaloosa - NWA/Hearsum Paulo. Her dam is actually the full sister to our herdsire Mr. Butterscotch, a beautiful appaloosa harlequin named Candlelight's Cookies and Cream. Both Butterscotch and Cookie are My Peruvian Zephyus offspring. Spirit's show career started as a mature male; however, that didn't stop him from beating out the competition. Judges commented on his extreme density and the amount of fleece packed onto his frame. They also appreciated his fleece's brightness and the handle he had maintained for his age. His macho appearance and confidence in the show ring also stood out. Spirit has proven to pass on his phenomenal fleece qualities to his offspring. Aiko was a beautiful, medium rose grey harlequin. She had a great staple with loads of soft, bright fiber - not to mention, she was covered in fleece from head to toe. She had great confirmation, and her head was absolutely beautiful. She was the only registered offspring of TGA Mario - a ribbon winning, appaloosa herd sire out of a long line of spots including Senna's Zoey and 6Peruvian Century. Her sire's lineage also included big names like Peruvian Hemingway and 6Peruvian Bruna. Her dam, Zenith's Peruvian Kismit, was a medium fawn girl with some impressive names behind her as well. Her lineage includes PPPeruvian Royal Fawn, Majestado De Peru, 6Peruvian 007, and many more. Aiko was a phenomenal girl - one that we feel privileged to have had as part of our herd. Unfortunately, we lost her due to birthing complications. We are lucky to have 3 of her spotted daughters to carry on her memory in our herd. She was 6 for 6 when it came to spot production - definitely one of those game changing girls in the spotted world. She will be truly missed.
