Diamond Girl is a daughter of Shiftin Gears. Like him, she has nice density, nice fineness and little to no guard hair. Her first 2 offspring are full siblings, and both have excellent brightness, nice fineness as well as density. In addition, both have inherited an exceptionally long staple. This trait is very likely a dominant trait, as both Diamond Girl and their sire Greener Pastures Taka Number are exceptionally strong in this regard. Diamond Girl's 2020 daughter by Crescent Moon's Sizzlin Shak is a very excting young female for us here at Sopris Alpaca Farm.

Belvedere is a gorgeous beige male with incredible fleece. His fiber is ultra fine and crimp covers his body from head to toe. His mean curvature measures an outstanding 67.2% with only 0.4% of his fibers greater than 30 microns. Equally impressive, his histogram from 2016 is almost identical to that of 2010. His sire is Snowmass Matrix, the highest selling alpaca at auction who continues to produce champions, even at 19 years of age. His dam, Snowmass Bright Stars, is a multiple Produce of Dam winner who was a consistent producer of show winning cria.

Description

Sparkles was a bit of a late bloomer for us. Although she always had a beautiful fleece, her 3rd fleece came in remarkably well, so much so that we added her to our show string. She bannered in the white huacaya females her first time out, as a two year old. Laurel Shovelin was the judge and made the comment that this was the first time she had ever awarded a banner to a female that she knew was pregnant. She is very laid back, and was 2 months pregnant for this first show, in Oklahoma. Most breeders simply will not take pregnant females to a show, but I personally have no problem with it, if the animal's demeanor is such that virtually nothing bothers them. All 5 of my offspring of Crescent Moon's Sizzlin Shak have this type of demeanor, something that I place a very high value on, as I age. SOPRIS SS Sparkles is bred with Snowmass Matrix Belvedere for a fall 2023 cria.
