THINGS TO CONSIDER AS A BREEDER; Two alpacas equal in size and density and Grade of fibre. Lets start at 2 yrs old. One grows 3 inches of fibre/year for a total of 7.5 lbs. The other grows 4 inches ( 25% more for the extra inch) of fibre/year for a total of 10 lbs. That's 2.5 lbs per year for SAY 15 yrs. That's a total of 32.5 lbs extra fibre for life time of one animal. In a fibre business, if U had a herd of 100 animals, that would be 250 lbs/year and is 3250 lbs of fibre for the 100 animals life span. Now there are other variables as the shorter fleeced alpacas neck fibre is basically about 1 inch long and not processible for yarn. Where on a longer fleeced animal there is 2 to 3+ lbs of yarn processible fibre. So this could be a much larger spread. Look at Ziba's consistency of fibre length on body and neck before 2022 shearing. I see some Judges are now starting to reward and recognize this. Offspring at Eastern Canada: Son BL Bullion wins Grand champion Composite male at Navan Show. and Res. Ch. at the Quebec spring show Daughter Stand Elite - Now 5 times Champion, Judges Choice, and Best Crimp Daughter High Fusion wins 2nd in class behind the eventual Supreme female at the Quebec Spring show. ( Her Only Show) UPDATE: Ziba wins Grand Champion White male at the ALPACA Spring Show the Largest Show in Western Canada. April 9th/10th 2022 at almost 6 yrs of age, winning over the 2022 CNASF Supreme Alpaca, (his half brother) from 2 days before. IMPACT MALE! 2022 Total shear weight 12.2 lbs- 5.6 lb skirted blanket- 5 inch blanket staple, consistent length to top of legs and part way up the neck including bib length. Medium sized frame, deep body, amazing staple length, including neck. This Macho is turning is a fleece machine, continuing to pump out over 5 inches of relaxed staple, at 5 yrs of age. His neck fleece is equal in length and character almost 1/2 way up before starting to shorten up. This length is carried to the belly and to the top of the leg. He is an average sized male that sheared 13 lbs/ 2020. His blood line is a strength of high show ring and fleece performance animals, with his Dam BL Zena is Our #1 consistent producer of Champions, is a multiple Champion & Supreme Champion overall winner at the 2014 CNASF. His Sire is one of a kind MFI & TNT Peruvian Foundation the only Macho to have produced a Champion in every class at the CNASF (4 Grand and 1 Res.) all on the same year. He consistently Stamps out Champions, with major bone and fleece lengths. We showed his 5 yr old fleece at the 2021 A.L.P.A.C.A show where he scored 75 points, after deductions, judged by Sonia Perron. her comments were " Awesome fleece for that age, great uniformity of micron, very well skirted and very fine! " Scored 18 out of 20 for fineness , 4.5 for density and 5 out 5 for uniformity of color. He is producing some stunning conformationally correct cria, with fine, bright, consistently long staple.

Birchleaf Layla

HuacayaOpen (Female)White
AOA# 30888838, CLAA# 41588DOB: 5/2/201113 yrs
Layla is a fibre machine, that was bred for fineness and retained staple length. Her family tree consists of some animals that are known to have and pass on these traits, like PPeruvian Vengador, CPeruvian Rafael, Peruvian Hemingway, Dominion Sire, DLA Peruvian Pastoro, and Snowmass Brave heart, add in CPeruvian Aldo and Accoyo PPeruvian Victor for Density and you can see the picture. Her first years histogram was 16.3, 4.0, 24.5, and 0.8 0ver 30 micr. She has produced some extraordinary offspring, one being Birchleaf Stand Alone, who won supreme champion as a juvenile at her first show The Spring ALPACA show and was sold after To Dee owner of Salt Creek Alpacas. She had a great show career in the US winning 3 championships and a best in show as a yearling. We now have two of her male offspring, Birchleaf Last Stand, and Stand Bye that are Fine specimens for any breeding program. They are Large males that have an abundance of fibre. Layla produced another stellar male in 2022 from Ziba. This young male we called Birchleaf Stand To Rule. Very fitting, as U will see as he matures and shows.

Description

Cria shorn July 10th. Arturo's comments at the A.L.PA.C.A. Show: This alpaca look AI. He looks to be on steroids :) Stand To Rule is a stunning young male, his fleece is outstanding, consistent character, length and fineness from his ears to his belly. He also has amazing crimp to the knee. He was shorn from ears to top of legs July 10th and his fibre regrowth is very impressive. STR is another great example of what Ziba has been putting on the ground. He has the solid bone and straight, boxy conformation that Ziba is throwing. He also has the quiet temperament and showy presence of his Sire. His neck fibre at this age is more impressive then his Sire's at the Same age. The length and character goes to the ears without shortening or changing. We are excited to see how this boy matures. His siblings are a good indicator of longevity of length, and character with amazing shear weights and skirted blanket weights. We believe he is the next step in getting the neck fibre to match the body, for longevity. We are waiting to see how his yearling fleece comes in and his ability to hold length and character in the neck fibre, also awaiting to see if Ziba can produce a match for him this spring. Sooo, if U are interested in him, he may come available this summer.
