Darby showed as a dark fawn her first year and light brown her second year. She has some of the best midwest genetics out there through Avalon Farms (Michigan) and Hobby Horse Farms and our own competitive program that includes Darby's sire JJA Adonis' Dozer. Adonis was a multi-champion who would put soft, long, dense fiber on his offspring with usually the dams color or darker and his great mellow personality. Oh, his HUGE bone as well. Dozer took on more of his dam's elegant structure which she got from his sire the legendary Legacy. She was a 7 time champion. Darby to all high ribbons except in one show a 4th, the same year she was a 1st placer at Nationals in Halter. She produces the studs color or if bred to a stud that does the darkest genetic she puts out medium brown like her maternal grandsire Winchester of Hobby Horse farms. 2019 : Darby DID have a true black female from her breeding with Kodiak on August 14th. We have named her Kodiak's Nikoal since she is Coal black. Her face is super cute with large eyes. Darby is a fantastic mom. She absolutely did not handle being pregnant in the heat of summer very well-just a drama queen. So we will wait and bred her back early next year. Nikoal sold even though we didn't want to part with her as we love her black fleece. 2021:Darby had a medium brown male with spectacular confirmation, super dense fiber and extremely nice bundled fiber with great crip. He's sire is Accoyo Impeccable who does the dam's darkest genetics. Ignite took a 2nd behind the RC and then a 4th with only negative comment of him needing to grow more as the youngest in the class. Killed us not to show him in 2023 as Ignite has beautiful to look at fiber but it is very tender from being ill this fall. Totally healthy now but the fiber break and tenderness wouldn't be competitive. Check his fleece photo out . We bred a fantastic white male from Sugarland Alpacas to Darby in hopes of a gorgeous white. Phoenix's Phenom is the result. He will be my white stud soon. I bred Darby to Impeccable's Preacher in 2023 who is a multi-champion black out of a gorgeous msg who's dam was true black hence his color. Impeccable usually does the darkest color genetic. Darby does the sires color. She fooled us last summer never showing interest in breeding again. This winter one of our juvey's was chasing her but she didn't go down but that worried me. She has had a rebreeding to Preacher. This is a great price for a show stopper pregnant girl who has made super nice cria. I'm keeping her white male from 2022! Would keep her 2021 brown male but we have his 1/2 brother in black. This next cria should be black so you'll get your money back and then some.

Description

Phenom was one of the most anticipated cria on our farm in 19 years. Breeding our blue-ribbon girl Darby to a multi-champion white in hopes of a phenomenal white that we could use as a potent herdsire for even more awesome whites. I'm a yarn dyer and really wanted and needed more great white fiber. He did not disappoint! Tiny tight corkscrews is what one hopes to see and that all we saw with this guy. Now after shearing with his fleece shorter, it looks almost matted due to the super fine nature and density. Can't wait to show this guy. He received a 1st in Light Bred & Owned and a 3rd in Lights Halter @ the MOPACA/Mid-America show 2022 In 2023 he placed okaybecause he was the youngest and smallest. He classifies as beige because of a light fawn/beige top line that is very faint. 2024 he was the largest in his classes. A couple shows didn't offer much competition but the judges loved him, He took1st and 2nds, considered for RC. Update: After looking at notes from a crazy breeding calendar. He was the last to breed to a girl who has been losing pregnancies but vet did see a very early pregancy so Phenom is working. We are having blood drawn on that girl for hormone evaluation. I pray she fixed herself! I'd absolutely love a Phenom white offspring.
