Fabulous Herdsire

Collin's Princeton

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Rose Grey
AOA# 30696839DOB: 10/23/200618 yrs
Princeton is an outstanding herdsire with many award winning offspring, including multi-champion Maria de La Mancha. He's been "top dog" at our farms for several years. First born son of CND Accoyo Bizcocho, Princeton is a Modern Dark Rose Grey with no spots. In his very first show, GWAS 2007, he took 2nd in his class. Judge Amanda Vandenbosch made the comment that he had the best conformation and by far the best fleece in his class, but placed him 2nd because of his size. He had just turned 6 months of age. He went on to take 1st and Reserve Champion at the National Sweepstakes in 2008. At over 6 years of age, he maintains an incredible handle and his latest AFD is 23.6 microns. His histograms for the last 3 years show less than a .5 variation in micron size. Princeton's first crias arrived in 2010. They are fantastic! Many are award winning replicas of their daddy's good looks and great fleece! To date his offspring have racked up 10 blue ribbons and 4 Color Championships in the show ring. Princeton has sired over 28 crias! We are very sad to say that Princeton took ill and due to a very cold and difficult winter was not able get well and passed away. We miss his calm demeanor and presence in the herd! He will live on in all his wonderful offspring!

Dam:

Falkor's Smokey Topaz

HuacayaOpen (Female)Dark Brown, Bay Black
AOA# 30320208DOB: 7/15/200618 yrs
We purchased Topaz as a maiden, who came with a breeding to Avatar. She is still one of our very favorite girls and an excellent production dam. Her first cria (2009) was a very light rose grey female we named Antonia, who is still a highly valued production dam in our herd. The next year (2010), her cria was a lovely true black male. His fiber was like black velvet with fantastic brightness. Unfortunately, Topaz aborted twins in 2011 and we held her open until 2012. We were anticipating something very special to arrive in late July 2013 through the combination of genetics from Princeton (Bizcocho/Don Marcelino/Timoteo) and Topaz (Mezcal/Drambuie). WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED! Unfortunately, we lost him at 6 mos. of age due to trauma, the cause of which is unknown. but we suspect he was kicked or stepped on at feeding time. This boy was a 17 lb. light fawn looking a lot like his sire, Mezcal, and grandsire, Bizcocho. We repeated this breeding resulting in a beautiful female, a modern dark silver grey and her last cria was another lt. fawn out of 2 darks! The results are you never know what color Topaz might produce, but you will not be disappointed. We have not bred her in recent years simply because we are trying to reduce our herd size. Her behavior indicates that she would still like to be a mama!
