August 2022 - Sonny's first cria, a female, is on the ground and she's lovely. Everything I would have hoped for. Stay tuned for more photo's! Talk about a highly anticipated birth! ROCKSTAR's Fortunate Son (yes, the husband was listening to the Creedence Clearwater Revival song) was born in textbook fashion out of our ever-dependable Colleen and gorgeous Xanadu Aristide who now resides full-time in Australia. Fortunate Son was a looker from the minute he stood up and when not posing for the camera is showing signs of huge potential and real promise for the future of our herd. He has grown up nicely as he nears his 3-year milestone exhibiting excellent substance of bone, lovely topline and balance, perfect bite, and a pleasing head style. We are very pleased with the density combined with beautiful crimp and architecture in his staple, nor does he disappoint in the areas of uniformity and brightness. ls from our most pre-potent female-producing maternal line! In his first show as a juvenile, Fortunate Son was awarded 1st place in his class and went on to win the Reserve Color Championship for light males. With no help from Covid, Sonny was not shown in 2020, outside of his fleece showing at 2020 Nationals in which he took a very respectable 3rd place right behind the mighty males in his class from CCNF. Nothing to sneeze at in that kind of royalty! In 2021, we elected, due no thanks to Covid still, not to show in the spring but did get Sonny's fleece to the 2021 Nat'l fleece show where he was awarded 1st place in his class, and earned an Advanced Fleece Award.
