Snowmass Matrix Midnight...Wow Wow Wow!!!! This extremely true to type Black Matrix champion son brings new excitement to our black breeding program. He has created champion offspring in the past who in turn have created multiple champions, and this 2009 Futurity winner is expected to do the same for our program. Grace is the full sister to FTAF's Blackbeard and doesn't disappoint! She is a robust girl, easy birther, great Mom with big bone, amazing fleece and passing on her qualities to her offspring (just like her brother). She produced 2 gorgeous girls so far: a Dark Brown Female out of Best in Velvet in 2019 and a very True Black Female out of Snowmass Matrix Midnight in 2020 She will be bred to Cataldo Steel this spring so we can see what she produces when bred to grey.

Wolfgang's cria are holding their own in the show ring! We are excited with the consistency that Wolfgang is producing improved fleece, conformation, density, color, and phenotype. Wolfgang is throwing true black and darkening the dam. He is consistently improving the dam. We especially like the robust general health, large strong straight bone structure, highly developed fleece with micro bundling, density, and gorgeous phenotype complete with full face coverage. Color genotype for Wolfgang is EEa1a3. Having an a3 allele has proven consistently to produce that rich blue-black in our herd. It is being passed through multiple generations and they are non-fading true blacks. Wolfgang has no dilution and carries both black alleles. It will be very unlikely that he would produce light offspring and all offspring will cover black. We are excited to have this information to assist in our breeding decisions.
