Shrinky-Dink is definitely able to produce smaller offspring consistently and his fiber is cria soft. A little guy with a big attitude! Proven and very serious about his work, we've got several cria out of him that we're considering keeping as foundation alpacas because they're solid, compact and have inherited amazing fine, crimpy fleece. Destini is a statuesque "spotted grey" that has pretty much every color an alpaca can be on her somewhere. While Destini is not an appaloosa, she has Hannahruh in her pedigree, lineage known to produce appaloosa. Destini breeds, carries a pregnancy and births easily, however she lacks strong maternal instincts and will walk away from her newborn cria. This isn't a problem if you find the cria soon after birth and isolate them together or pen Destini in a small paddock prior to delivery. Destini will stand patiently while the cria attempts to nurse, she's just not super attentive. Destini's first cria, a fawn male, "Raybear" was strong and active, racing around the pasture. They were able to rejoin the herd within a few days. Destini's second cria, a gorgeous rose grey girl "Ruby Rose" born in July 3rd on a 95+ degree day. Attempts to get Ruby to bond and feed were partially successful but the extreme heat at that time and the stress that caused had a serious impact on her health and we were unable to keep her going. We're going to give Destini another try and breed her for a fall 2023 cria, hoping milder weather for the birthing might give her next cria a better chance. If you're interested in purchasing Destini, you can choose from any of the Midnight Star males in mid Missouri to breed her to, included at no additional charge with her purchase.
