After taking a look at Kale's beautiful fiber, then seeing photos showing conformation, and topping that off with a look at his spectacular pedigree, it was a no-brainer that this fellow should come join our herd. Kale's fiber stats include: AFD of 17.4, SD = 3.9, CV =22.3%, and a comfort factor of 100%!!!! Kale's conformation as a juvenile, along with his fiber, allowed him to win a first place at the 2012 Michigan Alpaca Breeders Show And Fiber Fair. Kale's sire is FPA Abacus. FPA Abacus is a MFI Peruvian Wellington son. Abacus has excellent fleece quality from heat to toe. His fleece has a very soft handle with defined character and architecture. His conformation is superb. As an added bonus, Abacus has a very gentle personality and is easy to handle. Trimming his nails in a one person job, no restraints necessary. Kale's dam is Big Willows Nanette. Nanette is a proven female, and a great mother who has given birth to four crias. She also has been a surrogate mother to other crias who have less attentive mothers, and Nanette has even allowed these unrelated crias to nurse! Nanette is full Peruvian, sired by NWA,Ltd Abraham and out of PHAR Karmela of Peru. Abraham is a son of the well-known import, PPeruvian Felix.

Meia Hill

HuacayaOpen (Female)White, Medium Rose Grey, Bay Black
AOA# 35173724DOB: 6/3/201410 yrs
Meia is a sweetheart, has had Mworm and therefore walks with a stilted gait due to some remaining stiffness in her rear quarters. She's one of those fabulous females that will adopt an orphan cria and nurse it as her own, rare and a treasure for that bit alone. We're not sure she'll be productive but hope we can have cria with her at some future date. Her daughter Grace and granddaughter Ava are both retained as foundation females for their appaloosa bloodline genetics. Meia's sire is Vintage Peruvian Confetti out of Socosani, a harlequin appaloosa well known for his colorful progeny. She's got the same left front white knee sock as her sire. Queen B Bodacious is her maternal grandsire, with Curly Caleb and Peruvian Platinum in her pedigree. Upsidedown Appaloosa!

Derwydd Topsy Turvy

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Light Fawn, Medium Fawn, Medium Silver Grey
AOA# 35483878DOB: 4/4/20204 yrs
"Turvy" is a long awaited addition to our herd out of the Derwydd Alpacas breeding program. His pedigree reads like a "who's who" list of appaloosa alpaca genetics with Hannahruh top and bottom, Peruvian Platinum, Enchanted Hill Lutau, Enchanted Hill Appalucy and Xus. Turvy also fulfills the 20-year dream of obtaining an alpaca from the El R Peruvian Luciano line. In addition, he's got Vintage Cashmere's U-Taupe-IA as paternal grandsire. We fully expect the cria out of this fella will be unique. Turvy is a fairly precocious junior herdsire, already settling females. His first cria are due in May/June 2023. His breeder called Turvy an "upsidedown appy" and possibly a harlequin. Most of his spots are on his belly, the inside of his legs and the underside of his jaw. He does have a light speckling of black freckles across his nose. He looks light fawn in the pasture but his fiber at the skin is closer to medium fawn/taupe and gorgeously crimpy with bundling and consistent fineness. It's easier to see his belly, chin and leg spots when he's sheared. Description

Grace has the potential to produce both harlequin and appaloosa offspring through both her dam and sire's bloodlines. She's a solid vicuna fawn female, a bit shy but such a gorgeous head!
