Snowmass Matrix is truly one in a million. The fact is this stud has the Premier genetics for high curvature and ultimate fineness. He is a compact robust and well proportioned stud, perfect overall score in frame, bite, body, and reproductive anatomy. He has a fleece that extends its superior qualities over his entire frame. WITH ONLY 11 ENTRIES HE TOOK RESERVE HERDSIRE OF THE YEAR IN US FUTURITY 2008 IN BOTH LIGHT AND COLOR. THE CONSISTENCY OF EXCELLENCE IN HIS PROGENY IS BEYOND REFUTE. Matrix has what we call a Merino x Vicuna style of crimp. He has a bit more organization in the expression of crimp than a true vicuna but a very high frequency of crimp indicative in the vicuna qualities. Most importantly this stud exhibits an extreme fineness, brightness, and consistency of fineness which is seen in the extension into extremities(hip, belly, shoulder neck and head). Purchased at auction some time back with a TB Matrix cria at side (Lightening Strike- since purchased by our friends in Oregon - Amber Autumn). She has produced 4 female cria thus far in her short production career! Her 2014 TB off spring was sold at auction (as mentioned above). We retained her 2015 offspring (Seneca- and her 2018 cria Perpetua is spectacular). Her 2016 Cria Heaven's Hill Black Cora went on to win 6 Banners (WITH 6 DIFFERENT HANDLERS - so no politics there) and was purchased by Glen and Elaine at Tuckahoe Farm. Her 218 TB cria will follow in her FULL SIBILING'S Foot Steps - we strongly feel- as she is a STANDOUT TB FEMALE - Sweet Black Merilee and is retained in our program. Sebastian’s paternal grandsire, Estates Satin Cloud, is a top line breeding male who won 8 Championship banners before being exported to Sweden. Sebastian's dam is our exceptional 5x Champion, Patagonia's Simone (who also gave us 26x Champion, Estates Stradivarius). Simone is the daughter of Nishio, the 2004 All-American Herdsire of the Year and the 2007 Reserve All-American Herdsire of the Year. Her dam, Patagonia's Queen won a Color Championship banner and 1st place at the 2003 AOBA National Alpaca Show and a blue ribbon at the 2003 MAPACA Jubilee show. Sebastian brought home several awards while on our 2023 show string including a Color Championship banner and Blue-Ribbon from the 2023 CABA Classic show! He is the finest fleeced, highest curvature son of Snowmass Quechua standing in the world. This amazing 8X Champion stud won Reserve Herdsire of the Year for both Light and Dark in 2008! In 2009, Matrix won the Dark Herdsire of the Year and Light Reserve Herdsire. And in 2010 he repeated as Dark Reserve Herdsire of the Year! Her paternal grandsire, the Legendary Snowmass Quechua, also has an impressive show career. He received the 2002 Futurity White Color Champion; 2006 & 2007 Futurity Herd Sire of the Year; 2006 International 1st & 2nd place Get of Sire and 2006 AOBA Nationals 1st place Get of Sire. Snowmass Alpacas said, "Snowmass Quechua was a unique and exquisite stud male derived from our intensive and dedicated breeding program and no doubt the "ideal" representation of all that we strive to breed into our alpacas."
